We just finished our last subject class. I need to pass by and get something from the locker room before heading straight to the dorm.
“Maffey, mauna na ako sa 'yo ah.” I said while busy arranging my things.
"Huh? Do you still have something to do?" she asked.
"Yeah, I'm going to the locker room. I need to get my yellow notebook," I explained.
"Just wait for me, mabilis na ito.”
“No, kaya ko na naman ‘to. Mabilis lang talaga, and besides, our professor assigned you something. You should prioritize that, kita nalang tayo sa dorm.” I insisted.
“Malalagot ako nito kay Kuya Drachen e’. He told me to keep an eye on you wherever you go when he's not around," she pouted.
She’s really cute.
“Don’t worry, nothing bad will happen to me," I smiled at her.
She sighed.
"Okay then, call me if you feel anything strange around you," she reminded, and I just nodded.
Bumaling ako ng tingin sa aking gilid. Nahagip ng paningin ko si Kaired. He's staring at me, but he immediately looked away when I caught him.
Nilapitan ko siya.
“H-hey, are you okay now?” I asked worriedly.
“Yeah,” he answered.
“Are you mad at me?” Lakas loob kong tanong.
These past few days, he has been distancing himself from me. Hindi niya ako pinapansin. He's always alone, not talking to anyone else. He only speaks when the professor talks to him. I wonder why he's like that.
Does he have a problem? Because if he does, I'm willing to listen to his rants and problems in life. After all, that's what friendship is for, right?
He didn't answer, as usual. I sighed and took a deep breath.
“Aalis kana rin ba? Sabay na tayo.” Anyaya ko.
“I’m going somewhere,”
“Where? Pwede kitang samahan.”
“Huwag na,”
“Sige na please,” nag puppy eyes pa ako sa harapan niya. Alam ko kasing weakness niya 'yon, ang magpa-cute ako sa harapan niya.
“Okay,” pagpayag niya.
Napangiti ako. Kahit papaano pala, hindi niya pa rin matitiis ang cuteness ko.
“Let's go?”

“By the way, we have a test tomorrow. Let’s review. There are still a few minutes.” I said while looking for the notebook inside my locker.
“Nah, I can review by myself. I prefer some peace and quiet," he answered.
I still forced myself to smile.
“O-okay, saan ba 'yung pupuntahan mo? Tara na, habang hindi pa nagdidilim.” Pag-iiba ko sa usapan.
“Just follow,” malamig niyang tugon.
Hindi na lamang ako sumagot.
Sinusundan ko lamang siya, inilibot ko ang aking paningin sa paligid. Why do I feel like something bad is going to happen?
