two weeks later
"i'm sad", y/n stated as they walked into the training centre, "we're the seniors this year"
"yes no more of these camps."
over the years, the camp had become more and more focused on getting its participants ready to play professionally. the representatives of various V league teams would often come to watch and so would the media. interviews were not uncommon.
so for people that were looking to go pro, getting invited to these camps was the dream.
"Y/N, NENE Y'ALL ARE FINALLY HERE", their friend, kato harumi yelled out. she was a libero, and a phenomenal one at that.
"HARU-CHAN HIII", y/n ran to hug her. harumi too had been invited to the camp all years.
"thank god, i was getting tired being around all the freshmen. they seem so excited and about what."
"how many freshmen are there?", y/n asked
"nine, i think. there are so many second years though. like twenty."
"and seven third years including us.", nene replied. y/n was already distracted as she looked around the place.
"tsk"
"what's got y/n in a mood?", harumi asked curiously
"we lost against iwaka girls high during the inter high tournament."
"oh right, their setter is gonna be here too", haru replied and then realised, "oh"
"y/n-senpai, how are you today?", a smooth voice joined the three girls
"uh oh", haru mumbled under her breath
"shina-chan", y/n smiled brightly in a way that made the other two shiver, "i'm great. and you?"
"fantastic, seeing as we actually made it through to the semi finals...unlike"
shimizu shina. second year. supposedly a genius setter and one of the best in the country. so one would probably expect a great spiker and this great setter to get along, right?
wrong.
it just so happens that genius is a word y/n thinks is overrated. she is usually unimpressed by them.
at last year's camp, the setter and spiker had constantly provoked each other. they always seemed on edge when playing against one another.
even when they played together, they didn't get along. although they did make a pretty formidable duo, neither of them were very excited about it.
nene personally believed they had enemies to lovers potential. they were not amused.
"seriously what are the freshmen so excited about", shina groaned as she walked over to them.
