y/n was used to people looking at her and talking about her when she was at tournaments. everyone who scouted out competition knew her.
she did well to live up to her hype.
the whispers were not limited to her. people knew nene and they also knew natsu cause of her brother.
everyone was scared of the team in general. they were a force to be reckoned with. their teamwork was unmatched.
god, if only they knew what went down behind the scenes.
"y/n senpai", an all too familiar voice called out to her, "here to lose to us again?"
"shina", y/n addressed her blankly, "i forgot that you existed"
"SHUT UP IM LITERALLY THE BEST HIGH SCHOOL SETTER RIGHT NOW"
"and i'm the best ace so you're irrelevant"
"you're not even the best you're in the top three"
"neither are you ms top five setters"
"you told me you forgot i existed!!"

"we will win nationals", shina said smoothly

they walked away from each other, smirking.
"maybe it's just me but these two have a very weird tension in between them", chika remarked

the girls followed her into the huge and packed main stadium. it had five courts, so matches were conducted simultaneously.
the inarizaki girls entered after them. their marching band was already settled in, occupying a large portion of the stands. on the opposite side was the niiyama crowd, which wasn't as elaborate or irritating.
"oh well, they look fine", chika shrugged
four or five of the girls were looking at y/n in absolute horror.
"well well isn't this a cute coincidence", y/n laughed out loud as she looked at them
it was the same group of girls that had made fun of her when she was watching atsumu's match with her dad.
they hadn't really recognised her then. but now that they did, they were scared to death.
"isn't she the one from the match", girl 1 whispered, "she plays for niiyama?!"
