The incessant chanting filled me with joy but I didn't show that. I took a seat on my throne and Ethan stood on my right along with Roan, Octavia, and guards.

"Silence," my voice echoed and the crowd went quiet. "Last night, I was kidnapped and held prisoner in my own clan. Safe to say that I wasn't hurt but it is clear that those were the intentions. Maybe even death.

"Bring Clarke Griffin out." The crowd erupted in boos when the gate opened and the blonde stepped out. She looked above at the people and kept her eyes on me.

"Do you have anything to say for yourself?" I asked. "I didn't want to-you're a dangerous person in high power. Emerson was right how the killer would be a conqueror; it's a bad mixture," she explained.

"You were trying to remove the Flame," I figured. Her head dropped low. "It would useless, no one knows- the Flamekeeper does." My eyes flickered to Gaia. "Aiding and abetting in my removal would put you down there."

"Heda-" "Go down." She nodded and hung her head low, descending the ramp to take her place beside Clarke. "Even if you were to take it out, there wouldn't be a nightblood to put it in."

"But you wouldn't be Commander," Clarke said. "Ontari was able to pose as the Commander without the Flame," I stated. I took a deep breath, "You are now enemies of Wonkru and will participate in solo gonplei."

"Conclave rules," Octavia announced. "One person will survive." She dropped down a sword and said, "Fight," for them to begin. I watched as they paced the weapon, not wanting to pick it up and the crowd shouted at them; their words filled with hate.

"Nou Fleimkepa nowe! Nou Fleimkepa nowe! Nou Fleimkepa nowe!" they yelled. It brought Gaia to grab the sword and wield it, aimlessly jabbing at Clarke who wasn't the best at fighting.

I was surprised that she could dismantle the sword from her hands if turned into a fistfight. By the way they were fighting, I could tell Clarke had been trained by someone from Trikru.

"Lincoln?" I questioned, turning my head. "Of course not," he straightly answered. I looked back at the fight to see Clarke had been punched in the jaw, proving she only knew ordinary defenses.

Gaia stepped back as Clarke grabbed the sword with two hands. The Flamekeeper kicked the arena guard to grab a spear and just like Roan and mine's conclave, she used it as a defensive.

The blade and single fork played with each other and Gaia brought it over her head to whack Clarke. "May the Spirit of the Commanders guide me," I heard her and she chucked the spear at me. I didn't blink nor move as the crowd went silent and I looked up to see it had stuck into the thrown.

I sighed, tilting my head, "Even I had better aim." I turned my head, looking at Ethan who stared back. "Go show them your skills." He obediently nodded and went down, taking the sword and whipped it in his hand.

People were trying to prevent anything from happening but Pike and Echo kept them away. Even Octavia was pleading for Gaia's life because of Indra.

Ethan was able to slit Clarke's calve and Gaia's arm. The two teamed up to take him down but he put Clarke down. Gaia had known some of his fighting techniques to keep up with him.

"It works!" Clarke yelled. "It works!" "Hod op!" (Hold) I ordered and Ethan stepped to the side. "What works?" "I found the briefcase! I figured out the passcode and used the computers from the lab. It was cold and isolated like space. It works. I have all of them and you won't be able to find it if I'm dead."

"You looked through my stuff," I said. "I don't care," she replied. "You care more about it than anything else. It's what Becca got killed for." I was about to lash out but decided to keep it in.

"And what about you, Gaia?" I asked. "I can guide you and others through the Flame," she said. "Even if you know the passphrase, there is more to the Flame than anyone else knows. In the name of Calliope Prime Flamekeeper, show mercy."

"New rules of the conclave," I raised my voice. "You have a bargaining statement. If you prove your worth, you can live. If not, same rules apply: be the last one standing." I had to say that to be respected because it would look like I was pardoning them.

"Jus drein nou jus daun," I announced. The crowd grumbled that there wasn't bloodshed but others agreed with the alternative.

I stood, walking out of the pits to dismiss the battle and I had guards bring Clarke with me. She led us to the medical room where I saw her dig into a cabinet for the vials of the nightblood serum. She placed them into their original case and returned them to me.

I pivoted, leaving the room in silence, and found the Flamekeeper kneeling and I took her into the training room where Ethan stood aside.

"Gather all the children, both of you will make use to me," I ordered. "Yes, heda," Gaia nodded. "And Flamekeeper," I called back. "If you ever try that again, you'll end up like Titus." She nodded once more and left the room.

"Ethan, roll up your sleeve," I said. He did so and I placed a vial into the injector. "Are you trying to create me like you?" he asked. "Do you trust me?" I inquired and he lowered his head.

I placed the needle in the bend of his arm and shot it into his system. Gaia returned with a line of teenagers and I faced them.

"Right now, you will be affiliated into my class of novitiates. Each one of you is my second and one will be the champion to become the Commander. May the spirits choose wisely," I told them. "Come."

One at a time, I injected them with the serum which so-called 'worked' but it would truly be tested if the Flame was put inside of them. If it could stand the radiation, the would live but if it didn't, trial and error would be the conclusion.

"We start training now." "Heda," Gaia spoke. "I knew you'd eventually call them in so I decided to teach them a few basics." "Good, then we don't have to start from the beginning," I said. "We will start where Ethan is at, grab a sword."
