Lost Souls In School

Part - 7

I get up a bit early today and start my morning routine. After about 20 minutes of taking shower, I am ready. Yesterday was an actual first day of new class but technically I am feeling like today is first day into a new school which in a way is true. I never have to experience yet the coming to school for the first to find out who will be in the same class as me because we don't have different divisions and all the other stuff. We already know all of us are going to be in one class only.

I go downstairs and eat breakfast which basically is just cereal as always, not that I am complaining. I like to keep a routine but sometimes if I am not feeling like it I just skip breakfast or eat granola bar only. I see my mom packing up lunch for me and I remind her once again that today when she comes to pick me up, she has to wait at the other gate to which she nods and goes back to her work.

I see my dad coming out of their bedroom ready with car keys. I kiss my mom goodbye, picking up my bag and making sure I have everything, then I go to wear my school shoes. Yes school shoes! Our school has strict uniform which all of us has to follow. Otherwise we can get punished. Anyways afterwards I am off to school.

In the way, my dad asks exactly why are being shifted to another building and I tell him the whole story in short because my school is just 5 minutes away from our place without any traffic in the morning. He hums and nods but says nothing. I get out of the car and wave him bye through the car window which is our usual thing, then he waits till I am inside the school gate. Afterwards he starts the car and drives away.

I reach near my ''New School Building'' and see that Amelia as well as other few girls are waiting by the staircase for everyone. I go over there which causes few unenthusiastic hi's to come from them. Knowing all, I don't comment on it and just give Amelia a side hug.

While I am giving Amelia the hug, I see Xander looking our way well to be specific my way from a bit of distance. So, I just give him a small wave with a small smile which he returns. We just let it be.

Its been few days since the first in the new building and everyone has settled down a bit.

As routine we wait till most of the girls have arrived, then we decide to not wait anymore and start ascending the stairs. I notice that many other students are also present standing beside us and not to create too much chaos we go upstairs.

All the girls start taking place in one column of benches. Amelia and I take our places too beside each other. I know as this is starting of the year and its still first few days we can sit wherever we want but we will be handed over the sitting arrangement soon. Infact, I am thinking today will be the day and we will have to start sitting accordingly to given places from tomorrow onwards. I know and already getting upset by thinking about it, is because it's the worst thing. Every year our class teacher will talk to our previous year's class teacher and she will give all the needed information about who's smart, who works hard, who is friends with whom and who is talkative. Then, our mam will start plotting against us, placing the ones who are friends far far from each other which always means that me and Amelia are never in the same row let alone the same bench because our friendship is well known to many many teachers.

But what I think the teachers don't know about us is after 6 years of all of us being in the same class we all practically know each other's most things. Not personal but still. So, changing our places will never decrease the noise in the class we just get accustomed to the one sitting beside us and after a while we start talking with the girl/guy and the whole thing doesn't matter.

Anyways, I snap out of my thoughts and look around to see mostly all the girls are settled down and the ones who haven't arrived yet their places are also considered by all of us.
