____________________________________ The air was cold, not as it was before since Christmas had already passed and now it was heading towards the New Year. The cold weather didn't last long in California, no matter where you are. So instead of wearing a winter jacket like people had been wear less than three days ago, now they wore a light jacket that still created some heat.
Charlie understood this as she climbs out of her truck. She was in the parking lot of Beacon Hills High School, she was here for one reason.

Paige was the girlfriend of James' younger brother Derek. They were both a year younger than Charlie and James. They had been going out for a few months now and being young, dumb, and in love. She was beautiful and loved to play music and much as she loved Derek.
Paige began to climb out of the passenger seat of Charlie's car, closing the door lightly as to not slam it. "You know, you don't have to walk me in?" Paige says.
Charlie scoffed as she locked her car, "yeah right, for all we know Derek is going to be late and you're going to be walking around this creepy ass school at night. There might be a homeless dude in there or a murderer. You never know. Safety is better in numbers."
Paige laughs as she locks arms with Charlie and both girls make their way into the school. Paige was here to have a secret meet up with Derek. Charlie found it cute but wanted both of them being safe. Charlie had met Paige during one of the Halloween party's that they went too one weekend, and they hit it off. They became good friends fast since they liked a lot of the same things and had a lot in common.
They were actually hanging out previously before Paige asked for a ride to the school. And Charlie agreed since she was going to be leaving soon since she was going to be meeting up with James for dinner. They had a date planned, and Paige offered to come over and help her get ready for it.
As the two girls continue to lean against each other they make their way into the school. "So what did he even say?" Charlie asked.
Paige brought out her phone and showed Charlie the text from Derek. It's Derek. Meet me at the school. I have a surprise for you. It read.
