Elise Pov
"Ugh... what happened..."
I said coming back to my head as I woke up in my air force hoodie and leggings on the side of a dirt road? What? Why am I here?
I sat up looking around and saw my satchel and my leather journal with the pencil tucked in just laying next to me.
I grabbed it and looked as I heard hoof steps of a horse coming this way and looked up as a old man in a pointy wizard hat and grey cloak with a staff pulled his horse to a stop infront of me.
"Hello dear." He said with a kind smile.
"Hi." I simply responded looking at him and stood up.
"Are you alright?"
"Uh..not really...where am I?" I asked looking at him as he got off his horse.
"You are on a road between the town of Bree and the Shire. Do you mean to be on this road?"
"No I mean to be in my bed. Asleep but... I'm not... unless this is a dream. Yeah it could be a dream." I pinched myself to wake up but it didn't work.
"Ok...not dreaming..." I said quietly to myself.
"It appears you were brought here for a reason Elise. And just in time." He said with a kind smile as I looked at him with suspicion.
"How do you know my name...?"
"I was told in a dream that a girl of Norse blood will be coming and you are her. I suppose proper introductions are warranted. I am Gandalf the grey." He smiled.
"Wow... and I'm guessing you're a wizard.. judging by the cap and gown get up you have there."
"Yes dear I am. Now get on we have to go." With that he hopped back on his horse.
"Go where?" I asked looking at him confused.
"The shire. You are the 14th member of the company I have been tasked to find and now we must find the 15th. Though it was actually supposed to be 15 but I will explain it to Thorin. Now get on. We must make hast."
"Am I going to get a real explanation about what you just said or am I just going along for the ride?"
"You will get all the answers you seek in time but for now, yes you are just coming along for the ride." He held out his hand for me to take.
"Ok. This will be interesting." With that I put my journal in my satchel and put it over my shoulders grabbing his hand and he pulled me on behind him. I put my arms around his waist and we rode off at top speed.
Well this is interesting and definitely going to be an adventure.
