chapter 7

-alicia's pov-

*at the campout*

scotty: hey guys sorry i'm late, my mom made me put on my jacket and then do the dishes
*the boys start laughing*
bertram: your poor little mommy made you do the big bad dishes

ham: hey, you want a s'more?
scotty: some more what?
ham: no, no, you want a s'more?
scotty: i haven't had anything yet, so how can i have more of nothing?
ham: you're killing me smalls

ham: Okay, pay attention, first you take the graham, you stick the chocolate on the graham, then you roast the mallow
ham: when the mallow's flaming, you stick it on the chocolate. then you cover it with the other side, kind of messy but good, try some.

alicia: benny
benny: hm?
alicia: why are you cuddling your bat
benny: what do you mean?..
alicia: you're hugging your bat, why?
benny: because i can, and i don't have anything else to hug
alicia: you have a blanket, a blanket is something that is more comfortable to cuddle

*benny mumbles something*

alicia: what?
benny: nothing

squints: quiet you guys, Quiet! are you guys trying to wake it up? it just went to bed
scotty: what just went to bed?
squints: the beast
scotty: ohhh yeah!
everybody: shhhh!
squints: now quiet

squints: For-ev-er, For-ev-er, and so, The Beast sits there under that lean-to, dreaming of the time when he can break the chain and get out, dreaming of the time he can chase and kill again.
bertram: See, man? That's why you can't go over there. Nobody ever has, nobody ever will.
ham: One kid did, but nobody ever seen him again.
kenny: that ain't true
ham: yeah it is....he got eaten
scotty: nuh-uh, no, none of that's true, you guys are just making this up to scare me
squints: oh yeah, stick your head out that window and look down

*scotty looks out the window and jumps back*

scotty: he's down there!
squints: you bet he is
ham: whatever goes over that fence, stays there
squints: becomes the property of the beast.. forever

it's been almost a hour since squints told the story about the beast and every one of the boys have fallen asleep. I'm still up because one, the floor in the treehouse is extremely uncomfortable, two, it's still kinda early, well it's around 1:00 am, and three, i'm worried about destiny.

I decided to go lay outside in the middle of the field and look at the stars.

i heard somebody sit down next to me so i looked to who it was and it was yeah-yeah

alicia: why are you up?
yeah-yeah: because you're up
alicia: sorry if i woke you
yeah-yeah: no it's fine, the floor in the treehouse is really uncomfortable
alicia: yeah it is... hey can i ask you something?
yeah- yeah: yeah what's up
alicia: how do you tell someone you like them?
yeah-yeah: i don't know, just do it i guess, and if they don't like you back, it's their loss not yours, why? do you like somebody?
alicia: maybe...
yeah-yeah: who? benny? kenny? squints? bertram? ham? timmy? tommy? scot-
alicia: did you really say tommy? he's like 5 years younger than me, plus i would like to date somebody the same age as me, or older
yeah-yeah: so that only leave benny, kenny, and bertram, and. i know you don't like kenny or bertram since you always call them annoying, which leaves benny
alicia: mhm- wai-
yeah-yeah: ITS BENNY! YOU LIKE BENNY!
alicia: SHUT UP BEFORE EVERYBODY WAKES UP!
yeah-yeah: uhm too late
alicia: wha-

kenny: why are y'all screaming?
benny: why are y'all awake?
ham: what are y'all doing out here?
alicia: stop asking questions and go back to sleep
benny: come back to the treehouse and then i'll sleep
alicia: fine, c'mon yeah-yeah

*yeah-yeah whispers to you: i think benny likes you too, you should tell him in the morning

alicia: what- no

benny: hurry up before ham tries to take my sleeping bag again
benny: HEY!
ham: damn it. I'll stop!
yeah-yeah: anyways come on lovebirds let's go back to sleep
alicia: i'm gonna hit you yeah-yeah
benny: why are you gonna hit him?
alicia: he called us lovebirds
benny: sooo? i don't really mind it
alicia: what?
benny: i heard what yeah-yeah screamed

benny went back to his sleeping bag, which was next to mine, and lied down.
i lied down facing the opposite direction of benny, trying to avoid looking at him, soon afterwards i fell asleep.
