A/N: Okay! I have about 20 minutes until I have to get my next class, so let's see if I can get a lot done:D
George's POV:
"What the hell?" Dream said, breaking the long and uncomfortable silence in the room. The funny thing is, for the first time at this high school, besides the first few days of school, I feel like an outcast. I don't belong here, not in this nerd pit. "Jack!" I turned to him, along with everyone else. "Come on! Give us a chance dude!" He begged, I rolled my eyes in response, not ready to give in to this bullshit.
"I thought we agreed against this! Techno??" Tommy, who I'd just now noticed was in here, turned to the teacher in the front of the classroom. "Do what you need to do," he said and went back to whatever he was doing on his computer, which he looked very involved in. "With all due respect, Mr. T," the kid with glasses started, but Dream interrupted him right away. "Fuck that! Kick him out!" I shot him a look. If he wants to get rid of me that badly I'll fucking leave, the only thing any of us will lose here is time. "Fine! I'll fucking leave," I turned to the door but Jack stopped me. "No! You owe me! Like, big time!" I groaned loudly, stretching it out to show how annoyed I was. "This feels like blackmail, isn't exploiting people illegal?" He shrugged and smiled. "Come on man! Be cool for once," I scoffed, if anyone here is even close to cool, it's me.
"Fine! I'll help!" The rest of the class groaned, which annoyed me but I walked into the front of the classroom. "So! Where do we even start?" I asked in a tired voice.
"Introductions!" Toby jumped in front of me. "Tommy, Ranboo, and I already know you," I nodded. "Yup, you're the freshman who suck at football," Toby frowned but ended up agreeing with me. "Okay, Dream, this is George, George this is Dream," we made eye contact again, he looked annoyed. "Toby, we all know who George is, just tell him our names and get this over with!" Someone who was wearing a beanie yelled from the back of the classroom, I recognized him. "Okay, right! So you know Dream, that's Darryl, but we all call him Bad, then there's Alex, or Quackity, and Nick and Karl. This is Mr. T, but cool people call him Techno, then there's Jack," I nodded. This should be...strange.
"Basically, the kids are entering a competition. It's a big deal for them, and there's a huge event for kids just like them. I did it when I was in high school too, and I want them to have the same experience," Mr. T told me. "Okay, so you're coding a game? Do you have any idea how to do that?" I asked the class. None of them said anything. Great. "Why are you even entering them?" I asked the teacher. "Stop patronizing us and help!" Tommy shouted from the back. I groaned.
"Okay, so from my understanding, you have to have a code engine, and coding software...like java, right?" I turned to the teacher, who nodded. "Alright, let's start there then," I thought for a minute. Coding a full game could be impossible for us since we've all literally never coded before. I walked behind Techno's desk, I smirked once I saw him playing Minecraft.
"Okay! Listen up, this is what we're doing. Does anyone here play Minecraft?" I smirked once they all shouted and nodded quickly. "Okay, we can just make a mod right?" They looked confused. "It's like...an add-in, to the base game, like...in sims, or any game like that, you can code your own mods for the game." Techno pulled up the website for the competition. "Okay, the rules say, 'coding mods for already created games are allowed, as long as you add at least one plug in to go along with it'" I smirked.
"Wait, what's a plug-in?" Toby asked. "It's like an extra helper in your game, like a feature that could maybe...put more pigs in your game so finding food is easier, stuff like that,"
"What if we made our own custom clothes in Minecraft? Our plug-in could be more character design options?" Dream shouted out. I grabbed a marker and wrote the idea on the board. "I like that." He smirked up at me and took a bite of an apple slice from the bag on his desk. "Ooh! For a mod, we can add a storyline option!" Karl said loudly. "Wait a damn minute! That's actually smart!" Dream agreed, "plus it'll make the design plugin a lot more useful," Ranboo told us.
