I nervously threaded my way through the crowd to the stadium seats.
People were talking loudly and laughing.
It made me anxious.
I tried to stay to the side, out of people's way.
A guy shoved me as he walked past me, shouting something in another language.
I fell and landed awkwardly on my right leg.
Walking was even harder now.
Just as I was slowly starting up the stairs, a girl kicked my injured leg.
The crowd burst out laughing as I collapsed on the grass.
I felt my face heat up and shakily made it to my seat.
My friend next to me started talking to me about something.
I was barely listening, feeling everyone's eyes on me still.
My friend eventually tapped me on the shoulder to inform me that she was heading to her seat a few rows away.
I anxiously fidgeted in my seat as I waited for the event to start.
I jumped up when I saw my girlfriend walking toward me.
I ran into her arms and held onto her.
"Hey, it's okay," she soothed as she rubbed my back.
I pressed my face against her, trying to drown out the noise of the crowd.
My shaking slowly started to subside and I relaxed into her.
She gently led me to our seats and we sat down, holding hands.
I hadn't realised the crowd had gone silent until I heard a woman clearing her throat.
I looked up to see a woman in the center of the arena staring at us. "I'd like to continue if this. . ."
She trailed off with a raised eyebrow at my girlfriend and me.
My girlfriend soothingly ran her thumb across the back of my hand. "Couple," she supplied to the woman.
The woman's nose wrinkled in disgust. "Ah, yes. . . And I suppose you two claim to love each other?"
"Yes, we do," my girlfriend said with a kiss on my cheek.
"How disgusting," the woman said and proceeded to give a speech about the horrors of us being together.
Her words started to fade and my vision started to go blurry.
I was pretty sure I was shaking.
I only caught two sentences the woman said.
"Well, then. I must have you for myself," she said while looking at my girlfriend.
My head snapped up and I marched up to the woman. "She's mine," I growled.
The woman grabbed me by the chin. "No, sweetie, she'll be mine. I want her powers for myself."
I tried to pull back from her but she held me so tight it was painful.
She released me when I swiped my claws down her arm.
The woman stumbled back as a fireball slammed into her chest.
She glared at me before teleporting to me and slamming me to the ground.
The woman leaned down to whisper in my ear, "Pitiful, aren't you? I'll make her mine."
I was seeing red.
I wasn't strong enough to flip her off me so I sank my fangs into her wrist.
Everything seemed to blur together.
A rush of claws, fire, and teleporting.
I pinned her to the ground to rip her throat out and jerked awake in bed.
