Creak went the door at the end of the hall. I jerked around but there was no one there. I warily glanced around the old-fashioned furniture and whirled around as there was a whispering behind me.
I saw no one, but someone probably saw me. I was probably going to die. I nervously crept toward the double doors at the end of the hall. A woman laughing rang throughout the room and I sprinted to the doors. After wiggling frantically the one on the left opened.
"Watch your back," a girl whispered right next to my ear.
The doors behind me slammed shut causing me to jump.
Okay. I can do this.
I raced towards the next double doors and this time the right one opened. The first two rooms had looked identical. Now, they just looked creepier.
I heard a door slam open from where I had just come from and heavy footsteps following.
Oh my goodness.
I scrambled to find a place to hide. I crawled under a table and tugged the tablecloth over a bit to cover me. The doors to the room I was in were thrown open. A man's heavy breathing followed by loud boots headed my way.
I tensed up, ready to run away but the lights went out. I couldn't hear him anymore. Did he leave?
I huddled into a ball and listened. A hand suddenly grabbed my throat and pulled me up into the air. I kicked out frantically but my vision went white.
I opened my eyes to find two girls hovering over me.
"Great," one said. "Now let's hurry up and get out of here."
The only source of light came from a window high up in the ceiling. The moonlight illuminated basically nothing. Maybe there were killers all around us.
I shakily stood up. "Okay."
The two girls stalked off without looking to see if I was coming. I hurried after them, looking for weapons. After walking some time we came to a jar of pencils and matchboxes. One girl lit up a match, allowing us to see glittering eyes staring at us.
I picked up a pencil. It was sharpened. My only weapon so far. I grabbed a handful of pencils as an afterthought.
The matches revealed the next room to have dead bodies on tables.
"Lights off," a voice hissed as our matches went out.
We blindly stumbled our way to the next door. One girl fumbled with the doorknob. "It's locked," she announced.
Our matches lit up again and I wish they hadn't. All the dead bodies were sitting up looking at us. The door unlocked.
We ran through and saw a flight of stairs. One of the dead things tackled a girl to the ground and sank its pointy teeth into her foot. She screamed while me and the other girl started kicking and punching the thing.
It let her go and then turned to me. "Go up the stairs," I said. I grabbed the nearest item and hit the enemy with it. The item turned out to be a bath towel.
The creature gave me an amused look. "Is that all you got?"
"Um." I glanced up the stairs to see them hobbling slowly. I decided to do something stupid. I grabbed a handful of sharpened pencils and lunged forward, stabbing them into the creature.
I didn't look back and charged up the stairs. "Hurry," I urged as three of the creatures slowly ambled up the stairs.
I realised we wouldn't all make it in the same door before the creatures reached us so I ducked into the room next to the one the girls were going into.
The things paused, deciding who to pursue. One walked in my direction while the other two started hitting the door of the other girls.
I desperately hit the lock on the door. Nothing happened of course. I sprinted to the bathroom and crouched down behind the toilet.
There was a small, almost invisible door that led into the next room. I slipped into the next room and carefully shut the door behind me.
"Are you okay?" I asked the girl who had gotten bitten.
"Yeah." She gestured to a boot cast thing on her foot.
"Where did that come from?"
She shrugged. "It was in the room when we got here."
A growing sense of unease was filling me. "Right."
I lit a match and we slowly moved to the next room. There weren't any other doors in this room. I turned to go back but the door handles disappeared.
Something dropped on top of my head. I moved to pull it off and screamed.
A giant fucking spider is on my head!
One of the girls grabbed a branch from the floor and knocked it off. We all grabbed branches and bat spider after spider away.
The spiders stopped coming but a rustling filled the room. I looked at the tall grass covering the other side of the floor.
Three hyenas crept out, making their weird laughing noise.
How the fuck am I supposed to fight off three hyenas with a branch??
AN: I think I would've died then. This was the most vivid and terrifying dream I've ever had.
