"I'm sorry," she whispered.

"It's okay," I said as I wiped away her tears. "I know you have to go. It's not your fault."

She kissed me.

Desperately.

Like we would never see each other again.

And maybe that was true.

After this dream who knew where would end up.

We both felt the dream coming to an end.

We kissed again and again.

Our arms were wrapped around each other.

Trying to hold on despite slipping away.

The world around us was turning white and fading away.

I reluctantly pulled back and started walking away.

"Wait!" she pleaded, reaching out to grab my hand.

"One last kiss." Her voice broke. "Please."

I obliged and pulled her into one last kiss.

The second we separated, the whiteness consumed us and we faded away.

I reappeared on top of a shaky building.

A different girl grabbed my hand. "We have to go. They're chasing us."

Disorientedly I reached down with my feet to balance precariously on a small ledge.

I slowly inched my way down the building before nerves took over and my hands were shaking.

My whole body was trembling with fear.

As I shook, the building shook and wobbled.

The girl was on the building next to me. "Hey, are you okay?"

"I--"

The building started to collapse but she reached out with her free arm and pulled me against her.

We stayed like that for a moment.

Balanced carefully on a small ledge.

Her arm stayed around me and I was pressed against her chest.

She said something I didn't hear and when I looked up, I was at a party.

It appeared that each team would alternate sending someone forward to dance.

Oh, gosh.

"I don't want to dance," I whispered to my friend.

"That's okay. I'll just dance twice."

I felt the shaking start and when it was almost my time I ducked into the bathroom to hide.

I came out of the bathroom to find that the scenery changed again.

There was a small group of armed men waiting for me.

"Does everyone remember the mission?" I asked.

They all nodded their heads.

I then led the way into the tent.

I left my guards to mill about the tent with the other general's guards while I spoke to the general.

He seemed nice... tired of the war that our parents had kept ongoing for years.

"Maybe it's time for a change," he said.

"What kind of change?" I questioned.

"Peace." He grasped my hand in his. "We aren't our parents. We don't have to continue their mistakes. This war isn't benefitting either side."

I stared at his hands on mine. "I suppose you have a point."

We talked for a little bit longer before I gestured to my army to move out.

I waved goodbye to the general.

Once we exited the tent I turned to my army. "The plan's off. He's been speaking of peace with me. The war could be over."

They nodded and we started walking home.

The sounds of gunshots and yelling suddenly filled the air.

I recognized one guy from my army running down the hill with the treasure we had been planning to steal.

He fell to the ground, bullet wounds covering his body.

The general came racing out of the tent. "You! You betrayed me!"

"What? No! He--"

The general cut me off. "Kill them all!"

I barely had time to react before laser beams cut down every single member of my team.

I watched them fall lifeless to the ground, blood covering the sand.

I slowly inched my way towards the general with my hands up.

Laser beams fired at me and barely missed me.

I ran away, jumping onto my horse.

"Go!" I urged my horse.

The way back to my home was several days long.

We had to leave the path several times due to his guards everywhere and sandstorms.

Eventually, he cornered me in a room.

He twirled his sword as he approached me.

I looked around but there was nothing to help me.

I closed my eyes and waited for death.
