✼ ••┈๑⋅⋯ ୨ 『••✎••』୧ ⋯⋅๑┈ •• ✼

WHEN LUNCH BREAK ended the evening part of the event, wich meant the third and final competition, began.

Couples of students had to fight, winner getting to the next round and fighting with the winner of the couple before, until we had one winner, the same winner that Bakugo ha s promised to be.

The couples were made by sorting out little pieces of paper with our names on it in front of the public, making it impossible to say that the game was tricked, and when Midnight got on the scene to start making the pairs Onion raised his hand saying he wanted to retire from the competition because of his total memory loss of the previous test, meaning that he didn't deserve to be here.

Just right behind him another boy said the same, I recognize him as one of the people that were in my squad with Shinso, and that rings a bell in my head, why would I deserve to be here if I am in the same situation as them?

I take a deep breath and I lower my head, ready to raise my hand and retire too. <<No>> Todoroki and Bakugo block both of my arms each side, making it impossible for me to raise them. <<We all know that you deserve to be here>> Midoriya, who was in front of me, turns around and smiles at me with his childish yet comforting smile. <<What do I have different from Ojiro or the other guy? Why should I stay>>

<<You're powerful, and you deserve to be among the best, not like those two, one with a fucking tail and the other one's so insignificant that I don't even remember his name, they can't be put on the same level as you>>

<<Baku go, you don't remember anyone's name, they're all extras to you so it doesn't count>> I sigh still insecure about staying. <<You're not an extra, that should count>> I know neither of them is gonna leave it alone so what can I do? They can be really persuasive if they work together, not as if they aren't individually, but having three boys keeping you from retiring kinda makes you wonder if you're actually good.

Maybe one day they'll understand that they're better together, but I know that if the day will come, it's gonna be very far away in the future. <<Fine>> their grips gradually loosen and I go back to listening to MidNight who was now starting to take out the little little pieces of paper.

I, with my not so lucky ass, get paired up with the only classmate of mine that I wouldn't have fun to battle with, wich is of course Iida.

But when I look at him, his eyes don't have the usual full of ego gaze, they're actually worried about having me as their opponent and I can't do anything but smile while hearing Bakugo's voice in my head saying that I'm stronger than I thought.

As soon as the pairs are done I go to Midnight asking for the permit of using my weapons on the ring and she tells me of course with an enthusiastic smile on her face, excited for a little switch on the normal battles.

Then the ring is opened to the first two opponents, Midoriya and...

F*ck.

Hitoshi Shinso.

And I'm forced to look down at my friend who's going through the same thing as me, the same brain washing trick, being suck an impulsive person of course he didn't listen to me and Ojiro when we told him not to talk to the purple haired boy.

But it took a few seconds to provoke the green boy, making him snap at Shinso and giving the possibility of using his quirk to make him slowly walk towards the end of the ring, and of course towards loosing the game, all because he opened his mouth and doors to his mind.

Or at least that's what I thought.

After five minutes that felt like five hours of watching my friend walk out of the ring, with empty eyes and dead-like steps, he breaks free surprising everyone, even Shinso himself who was now forced to actually fight Midoriya but since he didn't expect him to break free of his control he obviously looses.

<<Mido...>> with only the power of his will he broke free of Shinso's brain washing quirk, that's some main character shit right there, with such a powerful will combined to with powerful quirk, he's gonna end up high, I know it, and I see it when I look at him.

I wake up from my little inner monologue as soon as I hear Todoroki's name being called, but when the alarm rings signaling the start of the encounter I blink one time and my vision switches from a normal ring with two people on it to a gigantic wall of ice that even pops out of the stadium. <<What the f->>

It was too fast, too intense, I didn't even thing about todoroki's exaggerating so much in a little school competition, he takes back his calm pisture and walks to hip oppinent using his left hand to melt the ice and mister mic announces the obvious victory of the half-and-half boy.

I don't know why but seeing the look on his face when metling the ice where his oppinent was trapped in just kinda made me think, add then how sad he looked waking out the ring with his head lowered and my legs just start walking on their own and I see his bicolored hair disappear at the end of the hallway in what it looks like the 1-A class for the festival.
