Chapter Twelve

Riker's POV

It was almost time.

In less than an hour, his sister would become a wife and his best friend would become his brother.

His heart was beating at an un regularly fast pace. He was nervous, and scared, and so unbelievably happy.

This was the day that he feared for almost four years. But now, this was a day that he couldn't wait to happen any longer.

If marrying Ellington made her happy, then who was he to complain?

God knows she deserves a lifetime of happiness after the past year she had suffered through. This was step one to her happy ever after.

As if on cue, the door opened behind him and his eyes welled with tears.

Standing behind him, dressed in white, was his baby sister.

He had never seen her look more beautiful. Her hair was pulled out of her face, and she wore a crown-like headband across the front of her head.

She was the most beautiful bride there ever was. And he watched her grow up.

His mind flashed back to the first time his parents had brought her home, so many years ago. He was small himself, but he remembered it like it was yesterday.

He went around calling her 'my baby', a name that had stuck until she was walking herself.

He always felt so protective of her, and now she was growing up.

"Wow" he said, his voice quiet and sincere.

"I hope that's a good wow" she smiled at him.

"Yea" he smiled back, "the best kind of wow possible"

He pulled his sister into his arms for the last time before they g.ave her away. Before he knew it, tears were falling from his eyes.

"Riker, are you crying?" she asked him, wiping the tears from his cheeks.

He smiled at her, taking her hand in his.

"I'm just so happy for you Delly. You deserve nothing but the best in life."

"I love you Riker" she smiled at him, wiping a tear from her own eye.

"I love you more" he responded with a smile. "Now lets go, someone is very eager to see you!"

Long time no chat! I've missed writing for you all! But I have had some personal problems and losses this past month, so I wasn't really in the writing mood. But I'm back now!!
