Chapter Ten
Ryland's POV
Who knew how much work a wedding was.
They had stayed up most of the night finishing all the small details for the party. If he never saw a floral arrangement again he would be just fine.
But knowing that all of this was for his big sister, his best friend, made the lack of sleep suddenly disappear.
They were up and at the church by 7:30. They had to set up the chairs for the ceremony and decorate the reception area.
It went by faster than he thought with his brothers around. They mainly sang along to the pre-wedding playlist Rocky had put together.
The last thing they had to do was set up the frames they made of childhood memories from the bride and groom.
"Can you believe she's already getting married?" he said aloud to whoever was listening.
"No, I can't" Riker responded. "It seems like just yesterday mom and dad brought her home."
Riker stared at the photos of Rydel. Out of the four of them, Riker would be the one most affected by this wedding.
He was losing his best friend. Sure, she wasn't moving to a new country, but she wouldn't be at home every minute of every day. She would be busy doing things with her newly forming family.
"This is a happy time man" Ross reminded him, "No reason to be sad"
"I know" Riker smiled at his brother, "I just can't believe how fast our lives have changed."
He could second that. In the course of a year, they had almost lost Rydel and Ellington. Then, almost in an instant, they were both fighting for their lives. When that stage seemed to have passed, Rydel announced that she was pregnant. Before he knew it Ratliff was playing father to his sisters child, and preparing to make her his wife.
A year full of ups and downs, but it was finally coming to a peak.
Rocky walked in the room holding a box in his hands.
"Mom just left to get Dad" he said, putting the box down on the table.
"Is that the record?" He smiled at the box.
"Yea it is" Rocky answered him. He opened the box and pulled out a vinyl record and set it on the table.
They all crowded around to look at it.
Because their family was so music-centred, they decided they had to make their second gift music related.
So they made a record that played the song they wrote them.
The cover of the record was a candid shot of the beautiful couple that was Rydellington. Their wedding date was printed in the top right corner.
"Dude that's amazing!" Ross gushed. "They're gonna love it!"
"They totally are!" Ryland piped up.
"Well I hope they do" Rocky smiled at his creation, "Because what those two have gone through, they deserve the world."
"It's going to be the best wedding the world has ever seen" Riker smiled. "We've done good boys."
Ryland couldn't agree more. It would be the best wedding anyone could ever ask for. Because they did it as a family. It was made entirely out of love, and it was because of that love that they were all still standing.
Because without the love that bonded their family together, they would all be broken.
Instead they were complete. They were happy. They were finally a family again. And it was all thanks to the wedding of the century.
