"Hello," y/n says stepping out of the house to greet their ex-boyfriend, Kenma. They tried to ignore the fact that he was avoiding their house. They knew he didn't love them anymore, but he was all they had.He was playing on the Nintendo that y/n had got him for Christmas last year. Back when they were closer. But now, they were strangers.
Well, not entirely strangers but, acquaintances.
As the gates to Nekoma High rolled into view, y/n took a deep breath for the grueling day of school that was about to come.
Walking through the halls, no one noticed them. Not that they were asking to be noticed, being alone isn't that bad.
But as the popular kids made their way through the hall, y/n was already in class. They folded their arms over all the written messages on her desk and looked out the window watching the random cars go by.
Just the normal stuff like 'weirdo' 'freak' 'get some friends' 'loner' There were already people in class before them. But as usual, they didn't bother to wipe off the names written on their desk.
No one bothered to look over and grant them a 'good morning'. They just pretended as if y/n were just another speck of dust.
"Alright class, it's been two weeks and I say it's time for another group project!" The teacher said enthusiastically.
The class groaned and looked over to their friends which they were hoping to be paired up with.
Coincidentally the teacher did allow them to choose their partners. And as usual no one chose y/n.
"Alright raise your hand if you don't have a partner," the teacher said taking attendance.
It's honestly extremely embarrassing to not have anyone want to be your partner. But throughout last year and this one so far, no one chooses me. So once again, for the millionth time, I raise my hand.
"Oh you again," the teacher says before looking around for anyone else who doesn't have their hand raised.
"Seems like your pairing with me," they said pulling out some papers.
Y/n let their head drop. What the teacher really meant is that their doing this themself, they can't actually help them. After all, they're the teacher.
The teacher invited y/n to her desk to talk about the project. She saw some of the bruises on their arms and turned a blind eye. It's not that she didn't care, she did actually. She just didn't feel like dealing with it because it doesn't effect her.
Y/n was used to this. One of their old friends who y/n had a huge crush on, would let them rant anytime and always comforted them. They should've married them and moved away to Venus.
Now some people claim they care, but y/n doesn't trust them enough to tell them anything. After all, they watch y/n get these bruises, and walk the other way.

As the last bell rang, people met up with their friends to hang out. Y/n made their way over to the gym where the volleyball club practiced.
They knew what happened , they also know Kenma doesn't love them anymore. But since it's not their business, they don't bother. At least they're nice when they notice them.
"Hey Kenma," Y/n said when he came to refill some water bottles.
He sighed quietly before nodding to show he was listening. "I just got this project and since I'm sure you got one too I was wondering if you could work on it with me. You see I don't have a partner and I don't think I'm a hard person to work with and-"
