"Welcome"Kenma raised his head as he saw y/n sitting on his sofa watching tv.
They looked different, more comfortable, more confident. They weren't wearing their usual clothes anymore. They had a a lot of bruises all over their body. But instead of covering it, they flaunt it in their new outfit.
"What're you doing in my house," Kenma asks slowly sliding his school bag off of his back.
"Your parents should've left you a message or something. Go find out." They say switching channels on the t.v.
Kenma furrows his eyebrows and pull his phone out of his pocket. He dials his parents number and is met with silence.
"They didn't pick up."
"Ok?" Y/n responded.
"I asked what're you doing here?" He said voice raising just a little.
"And I said, your parents must've left you a message," y/n said calmly walking to the kitchen.
"Don't make me call the police," he threatens.
Y/n ignores him and continues to make themself a bowl of cereal.
About 32 minutes later there are sirens surrounding the house and Kenma glares at Y/n as he goes to open the door.
He then turns around slowly when he sees y/n laughing.
"What so funny?" He asks.
"You really called the cops because of this," they said between breaths.
Suddenly Kenma's parents pull into the driveway. Looking bewildered, they walk up to Kenma to ask if he's ok.
"Mom, dad, y/n broke into our house," he says.
Kenmas parents look at each other, before turning their gazes back to their son.
"Did you read the note we left in your room?" His dad said.
"What note?"Kenma asks.
"Oh lord," his mother says in disbelief as she throws her hands into the air.
"We put the note in your room because you're always in there , we told you that we'll be leaving on a business trip for a few months." Kenmas mom says.
"We've been telling you about this for the past two weeks. Weren't you listening to any of it?"
As his parents continue to scold Kenma, and explain to the police that there was a misunderstanding, Y/n watches it all happen from their doorstep.
After the police left they came up to y/n and started apologizing for the trouble.
"Y/n I'm so sorry, I hope he wasn't a bother," his dad said.
"It's ok, I just thought you guys should talk about it because it's not only a family matter, but it'll be more believable coming from you," they said.
All of the things that just came out of their mouth, was just made up on the spot. Not exactly lies, but not exactly the truth.
Y/n just didn't feel like reminding him. Y/n was informed a few days ago, so Kenma should've known a little earlier.
"Well , we just wanted to get some groceries for you guys, before we head out," his mom started, "please be safe," she said patting y/n on the head.
"Be respectful Kenma," his dad said. Both teens watched the parents step into their car and drive off.
After the car was out of view Kenma turned to y/n with a scowl, "I hope you know this is still my house right?"
Smirking, y/n flopped onto the couch before saying, " 'course I know that. You're house, I'm just living in it. I will abide by those rules,"
For the rest of the day. Kenma watched y/n. Just watched how they moved, acted, talked.
They weren't like how they were a few months ago when he last saw them at school. Now they stood straighter, looked people directly in the eye, and didn't look stiff whenever they sat.
He was mesmerized by their newfound confidence.
This confidence wasn't there when they dated, but y/n was at least comfortable around them. But after the breakup, it seemed like they were always on edge.
It seems like they got over it.
"You haven't been to school in a while, what happened?" Kenma asked.
With their gaze still on the t.v y/n responded with, "what do you care,"
Kenma was surprised. This was the second time y/n had spoken so freely. The first time being when he saw them at the mall a few days ago.
"I don't care! I'm just wondering," he says, turning towards the t.v.
Y/n hummed in response. Kenma didn't usually ask about how their day was. But then again, disappearing for three months is questionable.
"No biggie, I just dropped out," they said.
Kenma turned their head in astonishment. It wasn't common for kids their age to drop out of school.
"Why?"he asked
"Why not? I wasn't gaining anything being there,"
"But you used to-" Y/n cut him off mid-sentence.
"Enough with these questions Ken-ken. Let's focuse on dinner," Kenma watched as y/n stood up and stretched until a joint cracked before making their way to the kitchen.
"By the way you're cooking," they added.
"You're the feminine one,"
"I'm also the guest, when has the guest ever has to cook in someone else's house?"
Yeah. This was not the same y/n as before.
