Chapter 14: Confession

Achoo!!

Joon crinkles his nose as Reon chuckled watching him,

"You're cute even when you sneeze"

"Thank you I've been told that" sarcasm laced the latter's tone as Reon burst out laughing, Joon shoves his hands into the pocket of his  hoodie huffing,

"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have laughed" a ghost of a smile was still on his face even while apologizing,

"It's fine I like it when you smile...." they both had red ears, Reon being brave reached out to hold Joons hands, it was warm and soothing, he couldn't believe they had come this far, after Joon gave him his number it took almost three days before he could conjure a proper message, every time he tried he would chicken out by over complicating issues imagining what Joon's replies would be, he stewed over it so much he was getting a migraine until his sister kept on pestering him and he finally sent a message, he didn't have it easy Joon was rather upset and cold until he called apologizing profusely for not contacting the latter, and worked up the balls to ask him out, which is how they ended up here hand-in-hand, he really liked Joon, he liked him a lot more than he was letting on, however he was scared of what he didn't know, he just knew something was wrong somewhere, and he couldn't place his finger on it,

"Reon" Joon's voice snapped him out of his thoughts

"Yeah, I'm sorry I was just thinking" they were still holding hands, it made him smile again looking at their hands,

It's now or never Reon Alexander Grimaldi, tell him!!!

"Thinking about what"

"About you" he stops making the raven-haired boy stop too, he had rehearsed this all through the week, how he'd sweep Joon of his feet with sweet words but now that they were together making eye contact, his words froze on his lips all he could do was stare at this beautiful boy who took his breath away, he knew they were meant to be, didn't know how he knew it but he knew it, he was missing something until he found Joon, his heart, his soul, every cell in his body knew it, so why was it hard to say it

"I....I" he took a deep breath watching the latter watch him with a smile "Would you like to go on another date with me again"

"Yes"

"Great" he tensed up, this wasn't what he had in mind to say

"Was that what you wanted to say"

"Yeah"

How easy he was to read, Joon shook his head,

"I should probably head home"

"Oh....yeah I'll drop you off" he really messed up

"Thank you"

The drive back was quiet and a bit strained, Reon kept racking his brain on how to correct his mistake and just tell Joon what he had planned to say, however before he could come up with his clandestine plan they had gotten to Joon's apartment,

"Thank you for today I had fun" he wanted to make small talk maybe then Reon would have worked the nerve to tell him,

"Me too" he wasn't catching on,

If Reon wasn't going to say it he might as well take the plunge,

"You're driving me crazy you know that" he tugs Reon's collar pulling him close, the look of surprise on his face with those bright beautiful eyes of his going wide, his uneven breath made Joon itch to taste him, he'd be damned if he didn't, sealing off any words Reon was about to say Joon would have never imagined kissing someone felt this good, it was right, he felt complete, he'd always felt this subtle sadness, a little stab here and there, but not right now....Right now he felt alright, he felt fine

I want more,

His mind screamed as Joon pried his mouth open, gently slipping his tongue in, Reon by this time had lost his sense of constraint, pulling Joon by the waist there was little to no space between them, Joon angled his head to deepen the kiss which Reon gladly welcomed, he didn't want to stop, the more he kissed him the more alive he felt, hot and dominating, almost like he was taking something from the other, and he didn't want to stop taking, the hotter he got the colder Reon felt to him, was that right, shouldn't they both be feeling hot, and almost immediately like a ticking bomb, something snapped in Joon, a ferocity he didn't know he had, all the while it was like Reon was entranced he wasn't willing to let go either even though he felt light headed and drained, he was willing to give his all to the other,

Stop before you hurt him,

Joon heard it clearly in a second he snapped out of his feral state letting Reon go, he stepped back, they were both panting hard, Reon was looking pale his hazel eyes almost black and the fresco one had a dull grey shade, where had the brightness gone,

Joon was confused and felt......terrified, he looked at his hands, they were shaking, his eyes unconsciously sparkled with tears, waves of sadness washed over him,

"What....what..I-

"Joon" Reon felt it too, he felt the pain and fear Joon was experiencing, they both could tell what the other was feeling, Reon walked slowly towards the latter, for every step he took, Joon took one backwards,

"G-Good night" he scrambled to open the door and was about to go in

"I like you" it was like the floor had become a giant magnet and Joon's feet's were steel

"I-I really like you and I feel this deep connection to you, from the very first day we met, I don't know why or how, but I-I just know you're special to me, it's like we're made for each other, the missing piece of each other, so come back Joon, turn around and come here" the latter turned but didn't move an inch, a moment passed and he still didn't make a move towards Reon,

"It's fine If it's too hard I'll go to you then" in his weak and weary state he walked over, Joons head was bowed, placing his fingers under his chin to raise his head, only to find the latter crying, it broke his already tired heart, he enveloped him in his arms, kissing his hair, Joon arms wrapped around Reon's taunt waist,

"Hey I thought we'd gone past this crying phase of our relationship" he chuckled as the raven-haired boy gave the stink eye before laughing, he hugged him tightly, his cold heart felt warm again, how nice

"Like you too....."

"Hmmm I didn't hear that" he teased

"I said....I really like you too" Joon hide his face using Reon's jacket

"No way!! you do? that's so surprising"

"Go away" Joon struggled to break free from the pythons grip this man calls a hug, but he wasn't budging and was oddly quiet,

"Thank you Jae Joon" he loosened his hold but not completely, Joon raised his head smiling and was surprised to find Reons eyes back to its bright beautiful colors,

"God you're beautiful" he didn't know when it slipped out, but he was glad it did and he wasn't gonna act shy about it either, Reon is beautiful he'd be damned if he didn't say it,

"You think so" red ears and cheeks reveal which one was shy between them

"I know so, and I also know it's time for you to go" he said go however his hands still held unto Reon's jacket,

"Yeah I should go" they were still not letting go,

After a few more minutes staring at each other, memorizing each other's face, Joon finally let go although deep down he didn't want to, clearing his throat softly, quietly saying goodbye before turning to leave only to be pulled back a kiss quickly stolen,

"It's not Goodbye it's Goodnight, I'll see you tomorrow" Reon says as he runs to his car trying to hide his expression of embarrassment,

"Goodnight" Joon whispers watching the man who'd later on no longer be able to hide his expressions.
