"Bucky, what'd you give Briar?" Steve scolded his friend. Bucky shrugged as they both watched Briar trip over nothing and laugh at herself like a fool. Steve shot his friend a glare. "Do you know what she'll do to you once she finds out you got her drunk?"

"Um," Bucky bit his lip. "I'll be gone by then?" he suggested and cringed as Steve shot him another nasty look.

"Just don't let her do anything stupid. I'll get some water so she'll sober up quicker," Steve told him and left.

"Buck!" Briar motioned for him to come join her on his bed. Bucky debated in his mind and caved in.

"What is it, Bree?" he asked and Briar threw a pillow at him. She had used up most of her money for it but she gave it to Bucky since his 2 pillows were overused. He caught it before it hit the ground and hugged it tightly as he watched Briar. She was still drunk and he felt bad for accidentally letting her chug down his drink. He knew she prided in herself for never drinking a sip of alcohol and he was proud of her too (Steve the most).

"I dunno," she slurred as she threw her head back and looked at the ceiling. The paint was rusty and peeling. "I'm just bored," she yawned.

Bucky wrapped an arm around her, bringing her closer to him.

"You're tired and we have a long day of training. Go to sleep," he murmured.

"Secret training," she corrected him. They both felt bad that Steve didn't know about Bucky teaching Briar how to defend herself. They know if he found out, he would shut it down and Briar desperately wanted to learn how to fight. She was great at it too.

"Don't give me a bruise next time," he said, looking at his arm which was bruised.

"Don't make me angry next time."

"Ah, fuck," Briar moaned as she landed on the ground. She felt lightweight as she was flying out of the urban city but knew she had to land at some point. God only knew who long it would take for ignorant Americans to realize that there was a flying girl in the sky who was somewhat glowing.

She looked around the rural area she chose to land on. There was nothing but road that stretched for miles. She had another mission from HYDRA after they congratulated her for successfully completing her first mission. But before she got to that, she had to clean out her wound. The pain was slowly spreading to her entire leg and she limped to the side of the road. There was a river flowing nearby- she could hear the water flowing if she strained her hearing. Birds flew by in groups of 4 or 5 and Briar limped after them. She knew she could levitate herself a few feet above the ground but it drained too much energy from her.

Her blood left streaks on the side of the road and she knew she would either die from bleeding out, starvation, or dehydration. She felt like she hadn't eaten in forever- or drank anything.

She neared the river and sat down slowly near the water. She leaned down and cupped the water with her hands and drank till she was satisfied. She would have to find food later. She lifted up her leggings and washed out the wound with the cold, freshwater. Briar made a circular motion in the air with her hands and looked at the bullet which was deep in her leg. She lifted her hand in the air, causing the bullet to go up as well. Briar hissed and leaned her head back as the bullet pried out of her skin. Once it was gone, she kept it in her pocket and washed it out once more. She washed off her blood as well as her dagger.

She didn't have any bandages or gauze to cover the wound with so she ripped her jacket sleeve and used that as a substitute. She winced in pain as she tightened it around her leg. She knew she looked like a mess but at the moment, that was the least of her worries.
