Harry's POV
The wind blew again, making it nearly impossible to hold onto my umbrella. Why did I have to be nice and go out to get Starbuck's for the lads? If I had known that the weather was going to go from a light sprinkling of snow to a full on blizzard, I never would have agreed to pick up the drinks.
I walked into the restaurant and reveled in the warmth before I walked up to the counter and ordered all of our drinks from the barista. I waited for almost half an hour before my order was up, which upset me a little bit, but at least I wasn't outside in the cold.
When my order came up, I stepped outside and held onto the umbrella and the coffees. This was going to be difficult walk home.
I was walking by an alleyway as I heard a soft voice say, "Dear God, if you can hear me, please, please, make sure my baby will be okay."
I stopped then, unsure if I'd actually heard someone or if it'd been the wind. I looked toward the alley and saw a figure lying on the ground. I slowly walked back towards the little entry. "Hello?" I asked.
I heard an intake of breath and a girl around my age stuck her head out. Her hazel eyes were red and puffy from crying and she didn't look like she'd been on the street very long. "Yes?" she asked.
"Can I help you?" I asked, feeling bad, no one deserved to be out in this weather.
She shook her head, quickly, "I couldn't ask for that," she said, quietly.
"You didn't ask, I offered. Now, come on. It's a blizzard and you'll freeze out here," I insisted.
"You don't understand, I have a son."
"Even more reason for you to come with me. A baby can't be out here like this. Please, don't refuse. I won't take 'No' for an answer."
A small smile formed on her face. "Are you sure?"
"Yes."
She looked down at her side. She picked a little blue blanket and a sweater up. She stood up and came over to me. "Thank you. I will never be able to repay you. I'm Lyric, by the way," she said, keeping her head down and her voice quiet. She was shivering.
"Pretty name for a pretty girl. I'm Harry, nice to meet you, Lyric," I said.
"Nice to meet you, too, Harry."
"Come on, the lads will love you. What's his name?" I asked as we walked on back to the flat I shared with the boys. Me, being a gentleman, took off my outer coat, which left me in my jumper, and gave it to her.
"Thank you. His name's Kale, Kale Seth Andrews."
"That's a nice name, he sure is cute. What's your middle name? Mines Edward. My last name's Styles," I said, trying to keep her in a conversation.
"Anne. My mum's middle name and my grandmum's first name," she said and I nodded.
"That's my mum's name, too. Well, here we are. Come on, I want you to meet the lads," I said.
She hesitated, "What if they don't like me?"
"They'll love you. I know they will, don't worry, love."
She took a deep breath and followed me into the house. "Lads!" I called.
"Hazzabear!" Louis exclaimed.
"Food!" Niall yelled.
"Hazza!" Liam yelled.
"Harry? Who's your friend?" Zayn asked, like a normal person.
