"Thank you for coming," I let out a sigh of relief. I'm in too deep about this situation that I call out for a friend. A friend that seems to be an expert on any topic—especially in love—even though he, himself, hadn't experienced it. The reason why I ask him, because I've heard that gay people give the best advice. "I'm really desperate for your help." I lean in forward from my seat. We're currently in a dining retro near the campus. That explains some familiar faces in here.
"You're really that desperate for my help, eh?" Jhosua smiles as if this is his best day of his life. "So desperate that you bribe me with food." He takes a huge bite out of the steak I bought for him.
Jhosua Roger have always been my go-to advice giving buddy. He's the most decent one to ask for advice in my circle of friends. The others will give some questionable advice that may get me in trouble or something. They're more of a bad influence, if I say so myself. The only problem here, in order to hear some decent advice from Jhosua, I need to bribe him with food. I'm okay with that kind of transaction, at least I'm getting the help I desperately need right now.
"So, what seems to be the problem?" He says between chews from his food. Some of them keeps flying from his mouth. I wipe up the bits of steak that land on the sleeve of my hoodie.
"Wait, let me just think of a way to say this?" I rub my chin, trying to figure out how do I say this without him getting choked by surprised.
"Well, you better hurry up. This steak won't last for long, you know." He gives me that cheeky smile.
"Would you please eat slower." I whisper in his direction. The last thing I need is drawing attention from other people here in the diner.
"Okay, I'll try not to devour this whole steak in a minute." He wiggles his eyebrows up and down, and I don't know why that irritates me.
I let out a deep breath, however I'm gonna say this, he'll still be choke up from it though. "I've been interested in a girl."
He coughs, almost choking himself up. I'm just hoping he won't die from choking, but I think it's time to plan his funeral though. Well, that's the only way I can say what I'm supposed to say. He drinks a glass of iced tea to push down the steak. "Who is this girl?" He puts down the glass of iced tea on the table and gives me a gaze filled with suspicion.
"Well, actually." I started to fidget my fingers. Since when do I fidget my fingers? Oh my God, I got infected my Margaret's anxiousness. Is that even possible? "First, I thought I love Jasmine Hazel—"
"Wait, you love Jasmine?" He leans in forward from his seat, his eyes filled with excitement. Oh, that's right. Jhosua and Jasmine are practically best friends. Oh fuck, what if Jhosua starts to spill something? He doesn't have the best track record on keeping a secret. I'm so screwed.
"No, wait. Hear me out first..." I raise my hands to halt him from jumping into conclusions. He sips on his tea very noisily that irritates me. "Would you fucking stop that?" He immediately put a halt on that horrendous noise. "Well, there's this other girl that I also got intrigued with."
"Oh?" he tilts his head in a way that I can see who's behind him.
There's a couple that just entered the diner. The man is a little bigger than the girl. He is wearing like dark blue buttoned-shirt with black jeans. The girl, however, is wearing the same shade of dark blue buttoned-shirt as the guy, but her jeans seems a lighter shade of black. Glancing even more around the couples. I just realized that this diner has a certain Starry Night theme in it though. With its full black tiles, light beige tables and chairs. The counter is in white with dark blue stripes at the edge of it. The ceiling is midnight with the lights acting like stars in the night sky. I don't know why I got intrigued by that, but the couple from earlier looks like they planned to be the part of the Starry Night theme in the diner.
