Staring directly at the ceiling of my room, contemplating whether if I'm ready to start off the second semester. Our semester break is finally over, and throughout those lonely, boring times of my life, it's just me listening to Jacob's voice through my phone. I desperately want to see him in person again, but the problem is, I'm also scared of starting a new semester. Not to mention that I might not have any free time anymore since I need to study hard.
Sighing softly, I keep on staring at the lightly decorated ceiling. Listening to Yoona's faint meows every now and again. This is ridiculous, I need to be productive than this. I mean, I've been staring blankly as I take a shower, and now I'm on my bed, staring blankly yet again. Raising my head for a bit, checking what time it is on the clock.
11:54.
In 6 minutes, he'll be here to pick me up and drive me back to the campus grounds. Unless he forgot about me because he's too busy playing games. Chuckling to that ridiculous situation, there's no way he forgot about me since he's the one that always calls me every single day. At first, I was sketchy of him insisting on driving me back to campus since I never saw him drive a car before. He might be a man of his word, but I'm still having a hard time believing that he owns a car. Like seriously, how the hell did he pass the driver's exam while playing video games 24/7. Questions that I must ask him when I see him today.
Alright, while waiting for him, might as well play with Yoona before heading out there again for like 5 months without seeing my favorite feline ever again. And besides, she's been dying to get attention from me with her meows that gets louder and louder by every passing second. Granted, she must have hated me for leaving her, but if there's a way to communicate in cat language, I would have told her that I have no choice. Until waiting for that groundbreaking technology to learn cat language, a light scratch on her head will be enough.
"I know you're gonna hate me again, but I need to go back there, okay?" I continue on scratching Yoona's soft head as she purrs and vibrates beneath my gentle hand. "I hope you understand."
She meows softly at me as if she fully understood my situation. Well, that response will be the best response I'll get for now.
"Margaret! Jacob is here." My loving, affectionate Mother screams at the top of her lungs. I'm really convinced that even the neighbors will hear that.
Glancing quickly at the clock on the wall, it reads "11:57". We talked about him being here on 12, and for the first, he's early. He may also have that itchy urge to see me too. "Tell him, I'm coming down!" I scream towards the direction of the stairs, hoping that my mother will hear it. Scrambling around the room to pick up my bags, and of course giving Yoona one last scratch on the head, "I'm gonna miss you."
Staring around my room, a smile plastered on my appreciative face. The last time I left from this room, I felt empty, as if I'm missing something. But now, I feel appreciative that I'm about to step out of my comfort zone once and for all. Indulging one last scent of my room, feeling the time I've spent my days in here. I can finally move forward without feeling heavy, especially when there's someone who's there to catch whenever I fall. Taking one last deep breath, before I venture off and down the stairs to meet that same person who taught me to be confident.
Beep Beep!
Jesus, this man doesn't have any patience in his soul. "Wait for a second, you jerk!" I run towards the kitchen to kiss my mom goodbye. "Bye, mom."
She hugs me for a second and kisses my forehead, "I love you, Margaret."
Smiling underneath my mother's eyes, I hug her back, releasing all the passion I have for her. "I love you too, mom."
