I can't focus on any of my homework one bit. I swear, I've been sitting here for hours looking at the same page in this stupid textbook, just rereading the same words over and over again.

My eyes are beginning to droop, and a headache was forming at the base of my neck.

I need a break.

But even when I close my eyes and try to relax, my brain keeps on racing.

For the past three days, I've only been able to think about one thing; Mason Harrison.

His whole aura has me undeniably in a trance. The way he effortlessly walks around campus to the point where it almost looked like he is floating. His secret ability to speak fluent Spanish. The gold chain that he always has tucked underneath his shirts.

I can't get him out of my head.

Every time I think I have him figured out, I learn something new about him. It is like peeling an onion – layer after layer after layer. But I have a fierce need to get to learn everything I can about him, and I can't stop peeling back his layers.

My phone lights up on the textbook in front of me with a phone call from Liam.

"Hi babe." His voice responds from the other end.

"Hey." I smile. "What are you up to?"

"Hmm... I've got a surprise for you."

My cheeks warm up, and my heart thumps inside my chest at Liam's words. "Did you send me flowers?"

"Something like that. Check your door."

Since I live in the converted basement of the house, there is a door that opens onto the outside of the house. It has always come in handy when I stay out too late and don't want to wake up anyone – especially AJ.

Excited butterflies take off inside my stomach as I make my way to the wooden door.

"You know you didn't have to send any-" My voice trails off as soon as I open the door.

"Surprise!"

"Is this real?" Liam is standing in front of me, a duffle bag thrown over his shoulders and a bouquet of roses in his hand. I can't believe it.

"As real as it gets, baby."

Jumping into Liam's open arms, I squeal and wrap my arms around his neck. I haven't realized how much I missed Liam until right now in this very moment.

I wasn't planning on going back to Coral Bay until Thanksgiving, when we had almost a full week off from classes, so to see him standing here is such a shock.
