"Hit him!" I yell into my cupped hands. One of the Troyvens Creek defensemen rammed an opposing player into the boards in front of me, and the glass flexed under the pressure.

"Good, God girl...." Layla laughed at me, and Hope joined in as well. "Who knew you were so aggressive?"

"It's hockey..." I mumbled. "Them hitting the shit out of each other is the best part."

"I don't know. Have you seen how big their thigh muscles are?" Layla fans herself dramatically.

Hope snorted and elbowed me in my side. "Has she seen them? Lay, she's got her very own hot hockey player. I'm sure she's done more than see those tree trunk thighs."

Almost immediately, I started blushing and had to turn away from my best friends, so I didn't burst out laughing.

They weren't wrong, though. Thanks to their constant skating, hockey players had massive thighs and gigantic asses. It was truly a blessing.

Turning my attention back to the game unfolding in front of me, my eyes couldn't help but wander the ice looking for Mason.

He had been playing phenomenally tonight, but there seemed to be an extra layer of anger and frustration in his game. Since it was the end of the semester, Mase had an exam right before the game, so I hadn't gotten to talk to him since this morning. He had been a little bit stressed but didn't seem angry or upset.

As the skaters reset by the Troyvens Creek goal for a faceoff, my eyes landed on Mason. To my surprise, he was already looking at me.

The team was wearing their home jerseys again - obviously - and Mase looked as good as ever in the navy. It was a darker shade than the suit he had worn for our date last week, and the depth of the shade made his olive skin pop.

The edges of his hair were sticking out of his helmet and curled at the ends, and I suddenly had the urge to run my fingers through his hair.

Mason was chewing on his mouthguard - something hockey players do that I will never understand - as he skated to his position in the faceoff circle. Before he knelt down to get into position, he winked at me.

"Um? Did you just see that?" A teenage girl and her friends sitting behind us all started shrieking. "That player just winked at you!"

"Yeah," A soft blush coated my cheeks. "He's my boyfriend."

I thought one of the girls was going to pass out after I said that. The shocked look on their faces almost matched the one I made when Mason had asked me out.

Speaking of which... The fact that Mason Harrison has been my boyfriend for a little over a week still feels like a fever dream.

Our date was perfect and spontaneous, and I could tell the immense thought Mason put into it. It was truly a special night that I hadn't seen coming at all.
