When I went to check the mail box this morning I got this invite to a party from Aiden, apparently it's going to be at his new cabin. He probably invited me because of our little deal yesterday. This wouldn't be my first highschool party, I used to go to some freshman year and they were all pretty interesting. I used to like them a lot because despite it being crowded and noisy, people were too busy being themselves to really worry about anyone like me. I guess it was interesting to be but after I fought some guy for groping my ass, I stopped being invited.
I've been watching the clock at my house, waiting till it finally reaches five because today I'm going to be fighting a guy who always gets me really excited. Sitting down in my work out clothes all dressed and ready, my leg bouncing up and down on the beer stained carpet floor. Hoping that time ticks away faster so that I can get my chance to beat some unsuspecting guy up, I sigh.
Since patience isn't exactly a virtue that I have, I left to go to Adrenaline at around four thirty. The place was packed and it wasn't even starting time yet, so other people besides me had to be excited for this. I forgot to eat before I left, so I headed over to the bar. Thankfully, it wasn't as packed as the audience, so I was able to order some water and some chicken tenders. I decided on something light enough that it wouldn't burden me before the fight.
Max heads over to me from the ring, eyeing me out of the corner of his eye.
"Are you good for the match today?"
"Yeah I'll be fine, don't worry about me."
Max decides to give me the run down very quickly and I make sure to listen up.
"I know you tend to look down on newbies, Lia. I get why you do, you're strong and don't like fighting with people weaker than you. This time though, this newbie's pretty tough. His style's similar to you, he relies on speed and cunning over power. He's a lot like you in that regard so this guy might be careful." I nod, getting more curious about who I have to fight by the second. It's rare to find someone like me around here.
The guy I have to fight is kind of scrawny, tall, and has surprisingly pretty eyes. His eyes are pure, he doesn't seem the type to fight in a ring but what would I know? The clothes he was wearing weren't made for fighting and his shoes were going to be his downfall. I noticed that the guy looks a bit nerdy and he doesn't seem to be in the right place. Why is he fighting here again?
Ring, ring, ring, the bell starts as we both enter the ring. A smirk dances on my face and I laugh maniacally as we circle each other. I jump in close to him, swinging my right fist towards his face, he dodges. The first thing I notice about him while we're fighting is that he's fast, incredibly so.
He was obviously trained well, he's not buff enough to be a professional but his build was pretty great. Every move he makes seems to be intentional in some way even though they weren't exactly aiming for the best spots. He's new to boxing, it's not obvious but he's still making rookie mistakes. Dodging his punches isn't difficult and getting in close enough to get a hit in places that would hurt isn't hard either. He's not quick enough with his guard, so it doesn't take long to knock him on his ass.
