Walking to school this morning was bothersome at best. The sun was out, the grass was dewy, it was calm and yet my body was still sore from last night's fight and I didn't go to sleep till 3:00 in the morning, so I can't find it in myself to enjoy it.
The parking lot of the school had a couple of cars in it and there were a couple of students talking to their friends in their cars. Everybody just started looking annoying to me. People seemed to be staring at me for some reason I wasn't sure of, when I made my way to the entrance door, but it didn't bother me. Today was not the day for me and it had just started.
My shoes patted against the hallway floors quietly as I made my way to my locker. The hair on the back of my neck is rising as I turn to my locker.
For some reason I feel like someone is watching me, it's terrifying. There's a rose taped to the side of it with a note on it. Right now I wasn't really in the mood to read so I crumbled it up and stuffed it in my locker. I stuff the flower in my backpack and grab my text books. The ugly grey locker door creaked as I slammed the door shut. This school needs to fix these lockers they're so freaking old.
Turning away from my locker, piercing grey eyes stare back at me and I flinch. I was dozing off a bit so I didn't sense anybody behind me. Glaring, I slap him in the face leaving a red handprint on his cheek. The sound of the slap echoed in the empty hallway and I wasn't the least bit remorseful. He deserves it! First, he gets me put in detention for unscrewing Mrs. Darcy's chair and now he tries to give me a heart attack!
Aiden grabbed the side of his face looking at me in shock. Pulling himself together, he glares, eyebrows pinching together in anger and his full lips pulling into an angry scowl. He puts his hand on his heart and he laughs menacingly.
"Is this what I get for cheering you on, Rose."
I freeze, why did he just call me Rose? My heart started racing with all of the different possibilities. He couldn't possibly know what I do.
"Saw you at that match yesterday and you were vicious," he whistles. "It was hot to be honest but that doesn't mean I want you slapping me around, princess."
"What do you want from me?" I ask, a sigh leaving my tired lips.
"Nothing." He shrugs casually, leaning against the side of my locker.
Raising my eyebrows and crossing my arms across my chest I lean a bit closer to him.
"Oh, really?"
He pauses, a breath escapes his lips as he looks down at my lips. He leans into me some more before he responds.
".....I want you to help me."
He looked so amused before, the smirk across his perfect face disappeared and a serious more agonized look appeared.
"What could you possibly need from me..?
"My mom wants me with a sweet girl, but I don't relate to any of them. You're perfect because it's obvious you can play the part but at the same time you can fight, we'd have something to talk about." His deep voice reverberates in my ear and despite my frustration I hear myself giving a positive response. "Fine." I say, gritting my teeth, too tired to even bother explaining why I accepted his offer. I turn around ready to stalk off to class and then I shiver. I can feel him staring at me and the attention itself makes goosebumps rise on my arm. I tell myself not to turn back and look at him.
