For the second time tonight, I walk to the bathroom and glance at myself in the mirror. When I look at my reflection I see a normal high school girl who doesn't know if the boy she likes, likes her back. I see a normal girl and it breaks my heart because if I were a normal girl I'd have a normal family. A normal family where my mom would be home, she wouldn't be on a date with my principal right now she'd be with my dad. My dad might have still been here to love me and comfort me if I get my heart broken.
I grab my keys and rush to Aiden's house hours earlier than I'm supposed to. I'm sure I'd be a bother but that doesn't matter, so long as I can get out of this house, this feeling will go away.
When I finally get there, I park by a tree near his cabin and just stare at it. His cabin is huge; it's got a very big front and back yard. It's beautiful and intimidating and just walking up the front yard to knock on his door gives me the chills because it's obvious I don't belong.
The front door is decorated with silent flashing lights, obvious signs that Aiden's problem already finished everything he needs to. There goes my excuse...
He invited me, I'm sure he wouldn't mind just because I'm a couple hours early so I knock on the door. However, as soon as he opens the door, all of the confidence disappears. He's only wearing a pair of blue skinny jeans and they're hanging dangerously low on his hips. He's got a towel wrapped around his neck and he raises one of his ripped arms to dry his hair. My eyes dart around, trying hard to avoid looking at his pecs or his abs but I end up glancing every now and then despite every brain cell in my head telling me to stop.
When I realize how long it's been and that I've just been standing here creepily staring at him, I blush till my ears heat up. Slowly, I bring myself to look up from his looking from his pecs to his jaw to his lips, which are pulled up into a sexy smirk, to his grey eyes that seem to be dancing in amusement, I cringe. He's leaning against the door frame just watching me watch him, the cocky bastard, I'm so embarrassed I could just die.
"So I know I'm early for the party but I was a bit bored and I thought I could help you out or something... I don't know."
I'm a wreck, a complete and utter nervous wreck. Aiden has to have noticed how nervous I am too because his smirk is just getting wider. Why am I so stupid?
Aiden chuckles a little bit; interrupting my inner turmoil. He moves off the door frame and walks a bit closer to me, lifting up his arms and wrapping me in a hug. The scent of his body envelopes me and my hands are touching his pecs, tingles fly through my skin and butterflies dance around my stomach. His warmth makes me forget who I am and anything that was bothering me earlier today, his heat burns through me and before I know it I'm wrapping my arms around his neck.
"Hi, Lia." He says, his voice tickling my ear and making me shudder. "Hi, Aiden."
When we finally pull away from each other, I look up at him and smile. His gorgeous smile brightened my surroundings and made me feel all gooey inside.
