Kai pov

Another crappy day of school when I have to see the one person that kills me anytime I look at him I stopped having the dreams a while ago considering Mattia is not in a coma anymore those were kinda the only things keeping me sane now it being able to see his face every day tho it hurts cause I can't even talk to him anymore but it's fine cause I know that he's safe as long as I'm doing what Elijah orders I yawned quietly as I leaned against my locker I haven't been getting any sleep for the past week or two I'm kinda used to it now but times like in class I'd get tired and just stare at my paper knowing my mind will let me do this but not sleep and the effect if this my grades are going down I'm am trying to keep them good but it's so hard my parents get it I don't want them to be upset with me so I still try but it's getting harder every day I can't keep up with this anymore I asked Elijah to take my life a million times I even tried myself but the world just doesn't want me to leave yet but for some reason decides to make my life absolutely miserable

Alv:come on Kai the bell rung

At least I still have my friends except the one person I spent half of my life loving then finally finding out he feels the same but we can't be together is like falling to hell then coming back up with a demon by your side saying you don't deserve nothing good in life

Kai:hmm

Alv:the teacher

Teacher:is there something wrong Cosentino you've been super distracted lately and i heard it's not just in my class

Kai:oh I'm sorry I'll pay attention it won't happen again

Teacher:it's fine just checking on you your one of my best students you can always talk to me or any of your teachers if somethings wrong

Kai:yeah thanks

I grab my things walking out the class room with Alv seeing Mattia then quit grabbing Alvs hand dragging him away

Alv:you have to talk to him

Kai:I can't

Alv:why not

I looked around before going close to him and whispering

Kai:the only thing keeping Mattia alive right now is me not being in his life of that's the price I gotta pay for that to happen then I'll do it under no means necessary

Alv:wdym

Kai:I can't talk here I'll explain more later let's just get to class so this day can be over already

Time skip

Schools finally over now I'm at home with Alv I've already explained the whole thing as to why I can't be with Mattia in a different language since Elijahs still watching me we walked down the stairs from my room to get a snack when there was a knock at the door

Maiya:I got it

The door opened as I heard a small gasp making me stop in my tracks so did Alv

Alv:what's wrong

Kai:shhh

Maiya:Mattia hi

I whispered

Mattia:hey Maiya mrs and mr Cosentino it's nice to see you all

Km:it's nice to see you too Mattia I'm glad your feeling better is there something wrong

Mattia:no it's just.........is Kairi here by any chance I wanna talk to him

I watched as my mom tilted her head towards me still on the stairs i covered my mouth shaking my head no trying to stop tears from forming

Km:um no sorry he said he was going somewhere but didn't tell us where

Mattia:oh ok thanks anyways

Km:we all really do miss you Mattia we're glad your doing much better

Mattia:yeah thanks but the one person I want to see doesn't want to see me I'll be going now it was nice seeing you guys again

Km:you too

I heard the door close and my mom turned to me

Km:he's gone

I sat down on the steps letting the tears finally fall down my face

Kai:I can't do this anymore mom I miss him so much

Km:don't worry Kai we'll get this whole thing sorted out then you can see him again just hold on a little longer can you do that

Kai:I'll try..........

But it's not gonna be easy
