Chapter 8

Vic's POV

"What do you mean he's in the hospital?" Sullivan asked "One of his neighbors called me and said that they went over to give him a package and he wasn't answering and were about to leave but then heard a crash. They went in and saw he was having a seizure, so they called 911" I said, panicked "We have to go now!" said Andy "You guys go, me and Miller will stay here, just keep us updated" said Jack "I'll stay too I don't think all of us need to go" said Maya "Ok let's go" I said as me, Andy, Sullivan,and Warren ran out to go to the hospital.

 When we got to the hospital I ran straight to the nurses desk "Hi I'm looking for Travis Montgomery, I got a call that he was brought here" I said out of breath "And you are?" asked the nurse "Victoria Hughes, we work together. I'm his emergency contact" I said a little agitated "Ok let me see... the doctors are still looking at him, if you'll have a seat a doctor will be out to talk to you shortly" said the nurse "Thanks" I said and the four of us went to sit down. It has been 20 minutes and we haven't heard anything, I was starting to get nervous, my leg wouldn't stop shaking. Andy put her hand on my leg "Hey, he's going to be ok" said Andy "What if I did this, if I would've gone home sooner maybe he wouldn't be laying in a hospital bed" I said nearly in tears "Vic it's not your fault, everyone gets sick, it was bound to happen ok" said Andy "Yeah" I said. 

Ten minutes later..."Family of Travis Montgomery" we heard a doctor say "Hello" I said waving over to us "Hi, I'm Dr.Hunt he's stable, he stopped seizing a while ago but he did aspirate a little so we put him on oxygen to help him breathe a little better" said Dr. Hunt "What caused the seizure?" asked Sullivan "I suspect it was a febrile seizure, we checked his temp when he came in and it was 104.8°" said Dr. Hunt "Oh my gosh, can I go see him" I asked "Of course, right this way" Dr. Hunt said as he led us to Travis' room.

 When we walked in he was sleeping with an oxygen mask on his face. I walked over to him and held his hand. "Hey Hughes, we're gonna head back to the station, you stay as long as you need, call us if you need anything" said Sullivan, as he put his hand on my shoulder. I nodded while staring at Travis. I felt Andy hug me and then they left. It's been a few minutes and Travis is still sleeping, I hear someone walking into the room "Ms Hughes, can I get you anything?" I heard Dr Hunt say "No" I croak out not really being able to say anything else. "Ok I'll be back to check on him in a little while" said Dr. Hunt. A few minutes after Dr. Hunt walks out.. "I love you Travis and I'm sorry I put you here" I said as I put my head down on the bed. "I shouldn't have gone to your house" I heard a voice say. I look up and Travis is looking up at me smiling. "Travis!!" I excitedly said "Hi" said Travis "Are you ok, how do you feel?" I asked "Great" Travis said sarcastically but followed by "I'll be ok" as he took off his oxygen mask "No no no put it back on you need it" I said putting the mask back on his face "Ok mom" said Travis "Shut up, I'm glad you're ok" I said as I hugged him. "Glad to see you're awake" said Dr. Hunt as he walked in the room "Yeah" said Travis "I'm just gonna check your vitals and then we'll get you admitted, we want to see if we can get that fever down" said Dr. Hunt "Thanks" said Travis "I'm just gonna go call the others and get some food, do you want me to call your parents?" I asked "No, it's fine" said Travis "Ok I'll be right back" I said as I gave him a kiss on his forehead.

Jack's POV

After Vic ,Andy, Sullivan, and Ben left to go to the hospital, me, Dean, and Maya went to do chores. Me and Maya were stacking hoses when out of nowhere she just stopped. "You ok, Bishop?" I asked. She didn't answer, she looked kind of zoned out. "Bishop, Bishop, Maya!!" I practically yelled at her "Huh?" said Maya "Are you ok?" I said concerned "Yeah, like I said earlier just really tired" she said non convincing "Are you sure?" I said as I went to feel her forehead "Hey! What are you doing?" Maya said annoyed "Sorry I'm just worried, you kind of zoned out earlier when I tried calling you and you look pale" I said "Well I'm fine so just leave me alone" Maya said as she walked away. When she got to the door, she fell into the door and held on to it.
