Lost and Found

Chapter 5

"STOP, PLEASE DON'T. NOT AGAIN" I pull the car over to the side of the road with a screech to the sound of Elena screaming in her sleep. I turn around from the front seat to see Elena crying while sleeping. "You're safe, they can't hurt you anymore" I remind her not knowing if she can hear me. Her body stops shaking and returns to a soundless slumber. "Sam what did we get ourselves into?" I sigh, putting my foot back on the pedal and drive back onto the main road.

I pull up at the bunker and immediately get out of the car and go to Elena's side. I carry her out of the car and make Sam get the door to the bunker. "CASS" I shout on the top of my lungs in demand. I carry Elena into a bedroom and place her on the bed. "Cass we need your help" I shout once more. Seriously Cass, hurry up!

"Dean you called, wait who is that?" I turn around to see Cass looking puzzled.

"We need you to heal her" Sam cuts to the chase. Cass approaches Elena and rests his hand on Elena's forehead. "It's done" I let out a breath of relief knowing part of the damage is fixed. "Dean, Sam who is this girl that I just healed?" Cass asks, repeating his question.

"Her name is Elena. We rescued her from a nest of vamps that she has been with for three and a half years" Sam explains giving the little information we know.

Cass's pov

"I see well if you need anything I want to help" I indulge myself. All of a sudden there is a wave of sounds and a head hammering headache. I am being summoned to Heaven which is strange. "Cass what's wrong, you look like you are going to be sick" Dean sarcastically cares. "I am being summoned to heaven, I will return soon" I briefly inform Dean and Sam. Better not keep heaven waiting they already don't like me as it is.

It hasn't changed much since the last time I was here. Still as white as ever. "Iza" in front of me sits Iza an angle I once fought alongside with. "Castiel thank you for coming to my call" she talks in a sweet innocent voice as if there is no blood on her hands.

"What is this about Iza last I checked Heaven would rather have me in hell with Crowley" I intrigue knowing the truth of where I belong. "The Winchesters got you to heal a young woman named Elena Gilbert. Elena is a doppelganger. I presume you know what that is" Iza's information would make sense why I sensed a different type of aura from Elena when I healed her. I nod my head in return to allow Iza to continue. "Elena is the last of the Doppelgangers and her blood is very precious so you Castiel have been ordered to your rightful duty that you were made for. You are Elena's guardian angel" Iza speaks of my past and future so easily like she knows it all. A guardian angel to a human is a myth but to us angels that myth is real and rare. Only a guardian angel is assigned to this role if the human was born to have a guardian angel or the other way around. "I expect you to fulfill your duties Castiel. You should also know that Elena may be hunted so those Winchesters will need you more than ever" I respect where Iza is coming from but Sam and Dean are always on top of the game.
"Thank you Iza" I acknowledge her in respect and leave the courts of Heaven.

I am obligated to protect Elena and watch over her. I am no hunter that is Sam and Dean's job but Elena is part of my responsibility. This poor girl being held against her will with vampires now to have to always look over her shoulder for the rest of her life. "Sam, Dean" I call out as I arrive back at the bunker. The two flannel brothers walk out of the room that leads to what they call a "kitchen". "So what did the angels want?" Dean asks in hatred. I dislike the people I use to call family but Dean sometimes could change the way he speaks. "Elena is a doppelganger which is a supernatural being by blood line but she is the last one of the kind. A doppelganger is a bloodline of look-alike's for Elena it started with Tatia and Amara followed by Katherine and finally Elena. There was also Silas, Tom Avery, and Stefan but all three of them died. Elena's blood is rare so she may be hunted which brings me to the fact I am her guardian angel" I unravel in a rush. Dean looks dumbfounded while Sam for once looks as if his eyes are going to pop out of his head.

"So you're telling us Elena is a rare type of human that we have to keep safe and that she is part of your responsibility" Dean confusedly rhetorically asks.

"Basically yes" I casually answered. It's not that confusing to understand; so why are they so puzzled?

"I'm going to look into the law about doppelgangers" Sam stutters. The law holds such information. Strange. I watch as the brothers sit down and start searching on the computers. Computers a confusing way to find information, too many sites. Too many inappropriate sites.

As the brothers research and talk about future plans I sit by Elena and observe her from a distance. I healed her bruises and bite marks but couldn't heal some of the scars. When I healed her I felt as if I was flooded by memories she experienced. Elena has been through so much no girl should go through. It isn't my place to say but Elena has experienced more death from the age of 14 then any other average human girl. "Jeremy please I still need you" slight whimpers escape her mouth making me wonder who is this Jeremy? I take a final glance at Elena and close the door on my way out of her room.

I walk back to see Dean and Sam with a beer in their hands. "Well doppelgangers are sure interesting and confusing but where do we go from here with Elena?" Sam comments.

"She needs to be kept safe so she should stay here in the bunker with you," I explored the most safe way.

"I think that is the only option we have, Dean, what do you think?" Sam agrees. I am interested in what Dean has to say about having a female live with them. "No arguments here. It's settled then; Elena will stay here with us while Cass be's her halo of an angel" I am surprised by Dean's answer. Normally Dean doesn't like others staying with him and Sam. "It shouldn't be too hard living with Elena except we will have to teach her a few things about hunting" Sam adds on. The Winchesters living with a rare human girl this will be eventful!
