the abyss
four definitions;
they were all different
in meanings
yet they all led me back to you
1. a deep or seemingly bottomless chasm
loving you
was an
endless pursuit
2. a wide or profound difference between people
the gulf between
you
and me;
us
because of
the fortress i've built around myself
walls that pushed you away
3. the regions of hell conceived of as a bottomless pit
you were satan's dark abyss
loving you was
a never ending cycle of reaching
the euphoric dawn
and falling back into
the melancholic dusk
4. a catastrophic situation seen as likely to occur
i placed myself in peril
as i overlooked the hazards
and headed straight into a path of destruction
for i was so fascinated with the way
you were both the most beautiful of dreams
and the worst of nightmares
