Chapter 13: Friend?

Link and Zelda's Home

After the more than embarrassing event that took place a couple of seconds ago, Link just decided to go to sleep, hoping that he could just forget what happened. Although he was not sure if he actually wanted to forget.

Were we really about to kiss? I mean we got damn close but I don't know if she actually thought that this is what we were about to do, I'm sure I miss understood something.

With that thought, Link decided to go sleep but he couldn't, he was too confused, what does he actually feel? Is she more than a friend to him?

Link tried to calm himself but it was to no avail, there was no way he could not think about the girl laying on his couch, the girl he got so close to. He was awake for at least 3 more hours thinking.

Usually thinking like this leads to nothing but it actually did something for me today, she is more than a friend to me, but does she feel the same?

Laying on Link's couch, Zelda had the same thoughts she couldn't sleep. She was desperate to figure out what she felt. In the end, she came to the same conclusion as Link, he is more than a friend to her.

The next morning came rather quickly because Link and Zelda were called by Captain Fury and he had an unusual request for them.

He told them that they should help out the police in Los Angeles. 

"Captain, Los Angeles? What are we supposed to do there? This is a long trip and also we are currently having some trouble ourselves."

"Exactly, that's why this is a good coincidence, in Los Angeles was one of the murderers of Jerry Tyson, meaning you could gain more evidence against him and according to our data, he was born there."

Zelda and Link understood hung up the phone and prepared for their trip to Los Angeles. Because they were going there to work the whole trip was paid for by the police, giving them the freedom to rent whatever hotel they liked, Link preparing the trip wanted something special for Zelda, he didn't tell her anything but he hoped she will like what will await her.

Finally arriving in Los Angeles Zelda saw tons of fancy cars, the one more expensive than the last one. Her eyes came across and red Ferrari, it was beautiful, she knew that the people in LA were rich but she was surprised that it was so many, but she was even more surprised when suddenly a guy in Mercedes pulled up next to her and tried to show off his nice car. She would be lying if she said the car was ugly, but show-offs like that were definitely not her type.

"New to LA? Want me to show you the city, I got a nice house at the Beverly Hills."

Zelda was hesitant to reply, not because she was considering to agree but she was unsure of what even to reply. She looked around trying to find Link so that he could respond, unfortunately, he was a little bit behind because he needed the key to the car he rented.

"Come on girl, you're way too beautiful to be alone, I think you will like what I will show you."

For some reason Zelda couldn't respond, she didn't know why usually she was quite good and rejecting idiots like this guy but right now she, for some reason, couldn't. 

The guy kept talking to her and she just looked at him, when Link got closer he saw the whole situation and just laughed to himself, he knew he was about to really wreck the guy with what he will do.

Zelda finally getting her mind together was able to tell the man in the car that she is not in the slightest interested, he was sure she was lying so she had to come up with something.

"I have a boyfriend."

Was this really the best thing you came up with Zelda good job.

Link saw that Zelda turned slightly red, not a lot but enough for him to realize.

She probably told him that she got a boyfriend.

Link was sure that she said that so when he got up to her he pulled his arm around her shoulder and looked at the man in the car.

"Is this your boyfriend? Let me guess he drives this car over there."

He pointed at a car standing far away, it was completely destroyed and held together by flex tape.

"Hi, yes I am her boyfriend, nice car you got." 

Link had a mocking voice which confused the guy and Zelda as well since he really did have a nice car, it seemed like an odd thing to say when having a rivalry.

That was until Link pulled out the key to the car he rented not showing which brand it was, he unlocked the car and suddenly the lights of the Ferrari behind him lit up. 

Link went to the right door opened up for Zelda and said.

"Come on babe, we have places to be."

Zelda looked at him for a short while confused and shocked until her mind started working again and she got in.

"Alright then my friend, how about you pack your things and get the hell out of here, next time you try to impress a girl with a car, try to bring a food truck that's more effective on girls, at least more than whatever you are driving right now."

The man in the car didn't know how to respond so he just drove away. 

Link was satisfied with himself and got into the car.

"What the hell was that Link and who's car is this?"

"This car is ours for the week, and what do you mean what the hell? You told him you had a boyfriend and I had to react to that didn't I?"

"I mean how did you get this car and did you have to scare the guy away like this?"

"So I got this by asking my friends at the Russian mafia." Link looked at her with letting her know that he thought the answer was obvious. "There are some people here who just live here from time to time, actors, etc. and they lent you their car for money while they can't use it, and yes I had to scare the guy away, I hate people that do stuff like this. So annoying."

"I agree that it is annoying and I can't say that you didn't just save me, thank you Link, but let allow me this question, what would you have done if you didn't have the car."

"Shown him that I#m a cop and pulled him over for having illegal lights on his car, he also tuned his engine so it's louder, which is also illegal because it is too loud."

"You always know what to do don't you?"

"Well not always."

He didn't know what to do with his emotions towards Zelda, but neither did she.
