"Hey! Get back here!" Historia yells as she and Zarah run after two rebelious children.

We were helping out at Historia's orphanage, full of kids from the underground and the surface.

"She's, uh..." Jean mutters.

"Don't run away now! Listen to us!" Zarah wails, grabbing one of the boys as Historia gets the other.

"Yeah... She doesn't exactly act like a queen." I utter, picking up a crate.

"It's only been two months since the coronation, but you can tell she's more at home running an orphanage." Jean sighs.

"Have you heard her nickname yet?" Armin asks.

"Snacks can wait until all your chores are done!" Historia says, sounding like an angry parent.

"The Cattle-Taming Goddess. Not as an insult, of course." Armin continues.

"She's already been elevated to divine status. It won't be long now before everyone forgets who plugged the breach at Trost, am I right?" Jean teases. I elbow him in the stomach.

"Don't talk about your Captain like that." I growl.

"One of the reasons Historia agreed to be crowned was to do exactly this." Eren says plainly.

"What do you mean, this?" Aksel asks.

"To take care of all the orphans and needy, whether they're from the underground or the surface. Captain Levi supported the idea since he grew up underground. She said that her goal is to help those who need it most, no matter who or where they are. So this is exactly what Historia wants to do." Eren has completely changed within two months, because of all the hardening experiments. I've been doing them too, but I don't know if I've changed as much as him.

Historia storms over to us. "Hey! You're all slacking again!" She shouts, placing her hands on her hips like an angry mother.

"Oh..."

"It's going to be dark soon!" She yells. I sigh and stack another crate on top of the one I was originally holding.

"C'mon guys. Let's do as Historia tells us, she is Queen now." I start walking away and Jean, Armin and Aksel catch up to me.

"She sounds an awful lot like my mum now." Jean whispers.

"Same here, man." Aksel groans, flinging his head back.

"A cruel goddess..." Armin sighs.

I feel a liquid fall out of my nose. I whimper and sit the crates down. I push my hand back against my nose and wipe the fluid off. The back of my hand was a crimson red.

"This is the fifth flipping time today!" I shout, taking out a handkerchief from my cardigan pocket. I wipe away the blood, staining the cotton.

Someone takes the crates away and I look to see who it is. Connie and Sasha had a crate in hand.

"Thought we might help out our favourite captain. You'll be tired from the experiments." Connie grins, adjusting the crate in his arms.

"Yep! You're way better than Captain Levi. You don't make us clean or do extra chores!" Sasha laughs sheepishly.

"Thank you, I'm honored to be your favourite captain. But quick, go before Queen Grumpy catches you slacking." I stand up and put the bloodied, lace handkerchief back in my pocket.

"Yes' ma'am!" They both joke with a smirk. They turn round and walk towards the Orphanage.

I turn to look at the sunset that was burning like a dying flame on a campfire. So many beautiful sunsets this summer, yet they all look the same as that night.
