HE SAID YES HE REALLY SAID YES!

today was normal as always. showed up to school at 6:30 and was off striaght to class.

I had texted George on discord the night before to meet me at the same spot on the bleachers.

all he sent was a heart.

enough to make my stomach turn.

he had beat me to the bleachers like he did the last time.

the boy sat atop the cold metal steps with the sun barely poking through the clouds.

I quietly made my way to the top and sat with him.

he smiled and got closer.

there's that feeling again.

I took this time to relish in his presence. I can ask him later.

he leaned closer to rest his head against my shoulder.

I could feel my cheeks heat up.

my confidence grew as I rest my hand on his knee and rested my eyes.

this is where I want to be.

there was a blur in the distance. a person. A girl with long blonde hair in a pony tail. my eyes widened as I recognized the figure.

it was my sister staring right at the shorter boy and I across the field.

I go to flinch but Georges weight is heavy.

he's asleep.

this isn't how I wanted to come out.

she looked at George, then back to me.

all she could muster was a small smile and a wave as she walked off.

(I'm still locked up in my room awaiting on her knock.)

my hands started to shake.

shit. shit. SHIT!

my mind was running a mile a minute.

is she mad? upset? disappointed?

what if she tells mom or dad?

George slowly awoke from his slumber due to my shakey self.

"is everything alright dear?"

and all my anxiety flushes away. it feels like I haven't heard his voice in years.

"dear..?"

his eyes flashed and he sat up straight.

"ah sorry if that felt to soon or something like that I didn't mean like-"

"I like it."

he whipped around to look at me and giggled.

"don't scare me like that you idiot"

we laughed it off and went back to our comfortable silence.

now's the time.

"hey George, I- I was wondering if maybe you wanted to uh, go to this library with me tomorrow maybe?"

he looked at me dumb founded.

"Clay.. are you asking me on a date?"

my right hand swiftly met with my neck.

"well I mean, yeah I guess,"

"of course I would. is it near by?"

"uh yeah! it's kind of near that cafe. maybe we could stop there as well?"

"sounds perfect."

we sat in a comfortable silence for a few minutes and basked in each others body heat.

shortly after he checked his watch.

"ah! sorry Clay I really need to get home"

he pushed himself up using my knee.

"oh okay! I can drive you if you'd like!"

as he finished packing up he declined my offer.

"no need to worry I'm okay."

as he started walking down the bleachers I spoke up.

"do you want me to walk with you?"

he stopped and looked up.

as I stared back, he began to walk up to where I was.

"thank you for the offer but there's no need for that. just get home safe and rest."

he slowly grabbed my wrists and pulled me into a hug.

I hesitantly wrapped my arms around his neck, slightly bending down to his level.

as he goes to pull away, he whispers one last thing

"Orchids are my favorite by the way, "

and he was gone as I stood stupid and red.
