today's the day.

prom night.

a shivering fear for every kid who's never had a girlfriend.

"does my hair look okay? did I use to much gel? did I wash my hair earlier-? did I even shower?!"

my sister had to deal with my rambling.

finally it got to her.

she pushed my chest agressively and spoke.

"Clay! if you don't stop squirming like a little rat than I exterminate you like one!"

I immediately complied.

she may be younger, but she's still intimidating.

"sorry.."

she scoffed with a slight smile as she finished off my tie.

yeah I have no clue how to tie a tie. kind of embarssing.

"I think my work here is done."

she had finished it off with a dash of some fancy cologne.

it was time.

what did I really look like.

she covers my eyes and brings me to the mirror.

"you ready?"

I hesitantly nod.

woah.

I wore a light brown suit with a light green tie. my hair was slightly slicked back, but not enough to look like a dork.

"wow.. how the hell did you do that?"

she laughed and rested her arm on my shoulder.

the silence was comfortable.

"you got this big bro."

wait. what time is it?

I looked down at my "dapper watch" as my sister called it.

"6:34! I gotta get out of here! thank you so so much for your help, love ya!"

I had grabbed everything I need and bolted out the door, careful not to ruin anything.

this will be my first time meeting Georges parents.

and I'm practically taking him on a date.

what if they think we're going as "just friends"

should I say anything?

just another thing to add to my pile of anxiety.

"it's gonna be fine Clay you'll be fine! it will be fun, he'll enjoy it, you'll enjoy it, and maybe finally you can make your move!"

I was here.

I couldn't stop blabbing as I walked up to the door.

"okay okay don't fuck this up. this is your first time meeting his parents. you better be on your best behavior."

I gently knocked on the door.

don't. fuck. it. up.

shortly after, a smaller woman answered the door.

she had black hair unlike George. he must get it from his dad. but he definitely got his height from his mom. I'll have to mess with him later.

"hello. you must be Clay, yes?"

her accent was the same as Georges.

"that's me! it's so lovely to meet you."

she smiled.
