She kept shivering in fear, not even trying to escape, and the way she stood, all explained she was not trained at all.
Avu: Who are you?
I said in my cold mafia tone, making her shiver more. I knew she couldn't do anything, and wasn't any danger, so I removed the knife, but still had a strong grip, incase she tries to run. This time I spoke in the soft tone I always use.
Avu: See, I won't hurt you. Just tell me who are you, and what is the reason behind you all attacking me.
She stilled completely, as if she was in shock. Before I could ask her anything, I felt another presence near me and kicked the person behind the knees making him/her fall down on their knees.
Avu: How many of you are here?
Girl: T..t..two.
I felt like I knew the voice, and soon realization dawned on me. It was Ashu's voice. The girl in my grip, according to her height, had to be Vaishu di. I immediately released her. But what scared me was, the attacker is also here.
Avu: Vaishu di, Ash, aap dono upar jao, Ash, tere kamre ke baaju waale kamre mein. Sid aur Sana waha hone chahiye. Aur bilkul shor mat karna, mai baadme samjhaungi kya hua hai. [Vaishu di, Ash, you both go upstairs, Ash, the room next to yours. Sid and Sana must be there. And don't make any noise, I'll explain you both everything later.]
They left immediately. And I turned back to see the man trying to get out of the house. I ran behind him and we both had run out to the streets. After few minutes I finally caught him, but couldn't see his face as he was covering his face with a hoodie. I was about to remove it from his face, but he pushed me back and ran off, giving me no time to run after him. I went back home to Sid's room and turned on the lights to see Vaishu di and Ash sitting there. They looked up scared, but were relieved when they saw it was me only.
Ash: Avu, yeh sab kya tha neeche? [Avu, what was all that downstairs?]
Avu: Woh sab chodo, Sid aur Sana kaha hai? [Leave all that, where are Sid and Sana?]
Vaishu: Terrace.
Avu: Mai dekh kar aati hu. [I'll go and see.]
They nodded and I went to the terrace. I reached and as soon as I went in, lights turned on and I saw Sid standing there, smiling. The decorations done were beautiful. I forgot about the attack and looked around. I went to him and he went to his knee, and I knew what was coming next, or maybe not.
Sid: Avu, Sana tumse kuch poochna chahti hai. [Avu, Sana wants to ask you something.]
I looked at him confused. He picked up Sana who was sitting behind him, and she raised her hand, which held a big piece of paper, attached to the straw she was holding. On the paper, it was written.
Will you marry my...
Sana: Papa.
She said, and I smiled at her cute voice before looking at Sid and nodded in yes. I picked up Sana and stood in front of him. He slid a beautiful ring into my finger. He got up and I pulled him in a hug, making sure Sana doesn't get hurt. We three came out of the hug after sometime.
Sid: Tumhe mil gaya chain? Ash phone nahi utha rahi thi kyunki hum sab yeh surprise dena chahte the. [You got peace? Ash wasn't picking calls as we wanted to surprise you.]
Avu: Ek second, wo andhera, aur Vaishu di aur Ash ka chupke se aana, aur wo aadmi, sab tumhara plan tha? [One second, that darkness,and Vaish di and Ash coming secretly, and that man, all was your plan?]
Sid: Andhera aur wo dono mere plan ka hissa the. Par aadmi? [Darkness and those 2 were a part of my plan. But man?]
Avu: Un dono ne kuch nahi bataya? [They both didn't say you anything?]
Sid: Mai unse mila bhi nahi. [I didn't even meet them.]
He was looking completely confused.
Avu: Thodi der pehle Vaishu di aur Ash jab aaye, tab hi ek aadmi bhi ghus gaya. Mai nahi janti uska target tum ho ya mai, par wo hum dono mein se kisi ek ko attack karne aaya tha, gun ke saath. Aur uske posture ko dekh kar pata chal gaya ki woh ek experienced killer hai. Us beech maine andhere ki wajah se Vaishu di aur Ash ko bhi uske saathi samajh liya tha. [Sometime before when Vaishu di and Ash came, even a man came here. I don't know who is his target, you or me, but he came to attack one of us with a gun. Seeing his posture I knew he is an experienced killer. And due to darkness I thought they both are with him.]
I explained everything that happened downstairs to him, and he looked shocked.
Sid: Par koyi tum par hamla kyu karna chahega? [But why would someone attack you?]
Avu: Hai kuch kaaran. Par mai abhi nahi bata sakti, shadi ke baad hi bataungi. [There is a reason. But I can't say now, after our marriage I will.]
He nodded, and we went to the room where Vaishu di and Ash were waiting. I felt guilty, knowing my actions must have scared Vaishu di badly.
