Let me start by saying I never thought this book would actually get a thousand reads so fast, heck not even another hundred reads whenever I update. But look where we are now, 1.6k READS!
I am in my outmost gratitude that WILDEST DREAMS achieved these milestones for such a small book. It's not big or grand, I'm not even sure if it changed the rotation of the world even a little bit. It's just there simply existing for a while then we all forget by the next book we read. Nevertheless, it got the appreciation from each and everyone of you who decided to stay until this endnote. That means a lot to me.
Note that the book title is not inspired by Taylor Swift's song. I don't think there's actually a reference to it on this book. I think it's just a common phrase already — WILDEST DREAMS. If I remember it correctly, the first title I decided on was DELUSIONS ON ELM STREET and it can suck ass. It's bland and no originality (not saying WILDEST DREAMS is not original, but it's better than changing a word on the original movie title).
I really felt proud of completing then there's the dreadful realization that I shouldn't keep it to myself. Maybe someone else out there would like to know this book I wrote. So I did a book cover using canva, wrote a book description, chose a publishing date, and then did it. Since A NIGTMARE ON ELM STREET is an old movie, I expected it wouldn't get a lot of attention and maybe the hashtag Johnny Depp would help a bit. And then, I just saw profiles of horror movie fans liking the book and maybe... this was turning out better than I presumed.
The world has a clever way of making dreams come true.
Upon starting the book and noticing that it was gaining attention, I thought I should check the rankings and I was surprised that it is doing far better than expected. And of course, I give all my thanks to the loyal readers who motivated me with their votes and comments. You guys are the best and I hope all of you have a wonderful year ahead. Sending all the good vibes and happiness you need.
If my years in isolation writing is what brought me happiness, I hope my books give you that joy too :)
