Adelina (ON HOLD)

Prologue

Thirteen Years Ago...
My mother and I train in the woods near our village. She's has been teaching me how to use my magic, control my lust for blood, teaching me how to shift, how to fight, how to kill, and how to survive. Besides English I speak in Czech and Latin. Mainly for my spells. I make my own spells, but it sometimes takes a lot of energy. I am not like other witches. I don't have to worry about upsetting the nature of balance.

Today, we do sword fighting. I am very good for my age. I've been training, since before I could even walk. My mother though is better. "Jsi unavená Adelina?" Mother asked. "No mother. I'm not tired," I replied. She also speaks Czech and Latin. "Good. Because if your opponent sees that you are tired, they will give you no mercy," she said. I nodded my head. Then, I heard the

SCREAMS.

Our heads shot up.

We ran towards the sounds and I saw that the village was on fire. Men and women in black killing the people that I love. People that I love trying to fight back, but the army was too big. Where was Papa?! My mother lifted me into her arms and hid me away in her clothes. She ran until we reached our house. I turned my head to see Papa lying on the floor in a pool of his own blood. His eyes are lifeless. A whimper came out of my mouth. My mother on the other hand stayed strong.

She puts me down and kneels down. "No matter what Adelina, you need to run. Hide. Only fight if it's necessary. Don't draw attention to yourself. I love you very much Adelina," she whispered. She then gives me her crescent moon necklace. She kisses my forehead. She gets up, pulls out her sword and whispered, "Run! Run for your life, Adelina! Go!" And she ran out the door to fight. I ran towards the back door and opened it. I turned my head towards the other door knowing that she will never come back.

I love you too mama.

And I ran out using my vampire speed.
