Chapter Two

I arrive in front of the Alphas office a few hours later.  Before I can raise my hand to knock it swings open abruptly.

"Ariella, what a pleasant surprise." Luna Sadie smiles brightly at me. Her long blond hair pilled neatly in a bun atop her head.

"Luna." I smile. Bowing my head in respect.

"Ariella I told you not to do that please." She says. "We're family!"

I chuckle a little. "No offense Luna but if I didn't Uncle Ben would have me on bathroom duty for a year." I shake my head in disgust, shuddering at the thought. Cleaning my own bathroom fine, no problem, cleaning someone else's, hell no.

"Yeah that Uncle of yours is sometimes more of a pain in the ass than the Alph...."

"Sadie!" Alpha Dominic's voice echoes from the other side of the door before Luna Sadie can finish her sentence. "Please keep the door shut if you are going to speak like that." He scolds but I can hear humor in his voice.

Luna Sadie gives me a wink with a sly smile before she pulls me through the door, causing me to giggle.

"Sorry my love." Luna Sadie walks over to Alpha Dominic giving him a quick kiss on the forehead. I can visibly see the muscles in his shoulders loosen from the contact. Any sign of annoyance long forgotten in once simple touch.

I have yet to fully understand the bond between mates, the love, the strength in the bond. Growing up we are taught to cherish the mate bond and I am excited to meet my mate but I'm also not in a hurry. Even though I already have a Warrior rank within the pack I still have a lot to do and learn.

Alpha Dominic runs one of the largest packs in the eastern region. Wolves from all over the country come here for training to become the most fiercest warriors. Most spend one to two years training before going back to their own packs. All earning the warrior mark like the one I bare on my inner bicep.

Warrior wolves are constantly coming and going to help surrounding packs with protection against rogues or even if packs are at war with each other. My uncle and the Alpha were extremely hesitant letting me out to fight after I graduated and received my warrior rank but they also knew they couldn't stop me either.

I am one of the fiercest female warriors here and I have earned the right to fight along side my pack.

"Ariella how can I help you." Alpha Dominic smiles over at me. My eyes lift to meet his and I realize I have just been staring at them.

His smile always brings me comfort. Even though I have my Uncle here the Alpha and Luna have always treated me with kindness and welcomed me with open arms since the day I arrived tattered and confused.

I pull myself quickly from the dark memories of that day, and turn my attention back to the Alpha.

"Actually I was hoping to talk with you and Beta Ben together about something." I can't help but shift in my chair as the words leave my mouth.

"Unfortunately Ben is out on the east boarder, we had a few rogues cross over into our territory about an hour ago and he has gone to handle them."

"Oh." I mutter.

I spent the last two hours gaining the courage to speak to the Alpha and Uncle Ben about the weird things that have been happening to me. I'm not afraid. I would just rather go fight off rogues than bring up personal things to my uncle and the Alpha.

"I'm sure he won't be to long, patrol informed us there were only two." Luna Sadie speaks up as if sensing my sudden unease.

Before I can say anything further Alpha Dominic's phone rings. He glances at it and a look of annoyance flashes across his face. I take that as my que to leave and begin getting up from my chair.

"Stay, it's Alpha Blake from the white river pack. Could be trouble." Alpha Dominic states frustration clear in his voice.

I mentally roll my eyes at the mention of Alpha Blake not due to him specifically but his son Gil. He came two years ago to train since he will be taking over his father position when he turns twenty two or whenever his father deems him ready.

Personally he's a smug asshole who constantly hit on me even though we were both eighteen and knew we were not each others mates. I rejected his advancements as gently as I could but no matter what I told him he constantly made excuses to be around me. I was extremely relieved when he finally transferred back to his own pack.

I was brought back to the conversation when I hear Alpha Dominic mention rogue attacks. Looking up I see the worry on Luna Sadie's face as she stands next to Alpha Dominic's mahogany desk.

"Notify Alpha Oren of the Crescent Moon pack, he is only about an hour from you. I'm sure he will be willing to help and by the sounds of it the rogues are not going to let up. How many attacks have happened so far? Alpha Dominic pauses listening intently to the person on the other line. "We will send reinforcements. ETA two hours. Be ready."

Alpha Dominic hangs up and look over at me. "Gather fifty warriors and head out to the white river pack. They have had four rogue attacks over the last four hours. Numbers have been between fifteen to twenty each time and rising.

"Yes Alpha." I bow my head in respect than quickly rush out the door mind linking the warriors to get ready to leave. All thoughts of the odd things that have been happening to me moved to the back burner as I mentally prepare for the fight ahead.
