I groan as the sound of my alarm clock, which is Heartbeat Song, fills my room. I grab my phone turn the alarm off and flop back down onto my bed. Urgh, a new day and another day at Panem high. (AN i know that most of the stuff in this story will be British but the schools gonna be like in America so that it will work)
"Katniss!" My mum shouts up the stairs.
"Mmhm" I grumble back.
"Katniss!" Mum shouts again,
"Yeah, okay." I say back.
"KATNISS!!" Mum screeches at me.
"WHAT??" I yell back.
"Are you up yet?" My idiotic mum shouts back
"WHAT DOES IT BLOODY SOUND LIKE?" I yell " What do you want anyway?" I ask slightly more calm than I was before.
"Breakfast is ready" she says. God is that all she got me up for?
I kick my legs over the side of my bed and walk into my bathroom. I take a quick shower before getting dressed into a red flowery top and red jeans and doing my makeup (AN outfit to the side) i take my hair out of its braid, which I slept in,and let it hang with loose waves over my shoulder. My boyfriend likes my hair better down. When I am done I run down the stairs and into the kitchen.
"Took you long enough" Mum grumbles.
"Oh, go die in a hole" I whisper back but so that mum couldn't hear me.
"What was that?" She asks.
"Oh, nothing" i give her a sickly sweet smile before going to sit down to my little sister Prim.
"Morning little duck" I say and I kiss the top of Prim's head.
"Katniss" she whines, "I told you to stop calling me that. Im 15, I'm not a baby anymore!"
" I know, but i'm 17 and that makes me older than you, so I can do what I like so ha!"
I say back and I give her a little smug smile. Prim groans and goes back to eating her frosties. I sit down in the chair opposite her and nibble on a slice of toast. Im not one for breakfast. My mum glares at me from across the room for some reason unknown to mankind.
Just as I was about to shout at my mum a car horn honks outside.
"Thats my ride" I say "bye Prim"
I get up, grab my phone and run out of the door! Making sure to give my mum the evils on the way out.
I make my way over to the car and get in.
