I get changed out of the clothes i wore to school into something a bit comfier. I go with pink because Peeta always says he likes the colour best on me. When I am done I sprint down the stairs and out of the door.
I drive down to the meadow half an hour later like Peeta said. Im slightly nervous, he seemed pretty distracted on the phone.
As I park my car I see the familiar blond curls that I know and love. I decide to run up behind him and scare him because thats what great girlfriends do.
As I run up behind him my foot trips up over a rock and I land face first in the grass. Peeta turns around.
"Katniss?" He asks.
"Yeah, uh, hi. That worked really well" i reply
"Uh, yeah okay" he mumbles.
I decide to just cut to the chase.
"Peeta, what the hell is wrong? You're acting really strange and its scaring me." I confess.
"Oh, um, I'm fine. But what about you? You just fell over a rock, i mean." He relpies, obviously trying to change the topic.
"Im fine! Im just pissed that you wont tell me whats wrong. Im your girlfriend, you can tell me. Or do you not trust me?" I spit at him.
"Kat, im fine I was just wondering if, uh, you'd like to..." He trails off.
"What? Like to what?" Im shouting now.
"Go to prom with me?" He asks.
"Oh Peeta! Yeah of course! Id love too!" I say a bit taken aback. "I thought you were gonna break up with me or something"
"I wouldn't do that" he says back.
"Yeah, cos you will stay with me?" I ask.
"Always" he replies.
