Rachel's POV~

The announcement sounded on the PA system, "Attention ladies and gentlemen, flight BW three eight zero two to Barbados, will now begin boarding-"

The voice echoed throughout the walls of the bathroom as I stood in the mirror passing a comb through my hair in an attempt to readjust it.

That's us alright.

I passed the comb a couple more times until I was satisfied with how it looked before I finally booked it out of there.

The moment I stepped into the waiting room Cory met me and took hold of my hand. He gave me my carry-on bag and lead the both of us towards the boarding area.

Damn

I winced once we made it to the line, happy to stand still for a couple seconds. I had this burst of energy but it were seemingly dampened. Once the line progressed I limped forward attempting to curve the soreness I was experiencing.

Cory looked at me suspiciously. "What's up witchyu-"

I rolled my eyes. "Somebody decided that a 'tamed'..
Oh, I don't know-
maybe even 'gentle' approach wasn't an option and now I can't walk straight."

Cory attempted to hold back a laugh. He commented, "Dang. Well now how are you supposed to cripwalk?"

I swung the back of my hand against his arm. "I'm serious."

"Me too," he laughed.
He found my stature to be quite entertaining.
"Look, you came to the restaurant, had the menu, you made the order," he continued in a nonchalant tone, "and the chef delivered.
It's not my fault that you got indigestion afterwards."

I know this man did not just-

Cory always knew that he had it like that, but was never the kind of guy to outright brag about it.

Within about five minutes we were boarding the plane and we're awaiting the rest of passengers to do the same.
"You want the window seat?" I asked.

He replied grinning like a child, "What are we, in fourth grade?
Of course I want the window seat."

I shook my head as I let him slide inside.
I guess it's time to get comfortable.

It would be a six hour flight to Barbados and within the first fifteen minutes in the air Cory fell asleep.

I looked over at the clouds just beneath us through the window beside him and the lights were dimmed due to the time of night.
Energy surged through my system although it were late.
Great.
Even if I wanted to sleep, a baby three rows over was crying. Shrieking.

How are you asleep right now?

Cory remained unconscious. I shifted within my seat out of boredom. Very easily my eyes landed on the baby.
The mother wrestled with them as the father turned his back to him, as if he were bothered.

Groans of discomfort were heard around me as the mother's attempts transpired.
I watched as for the next half an hour she went back and forth and then opted to walk with the baby. Only then did the baby silence, the whir of the engine now the main sound I could hear. The father's back remained turned.

I sidled up next to Cory. My head having fit comfortably on his chest, the sound of his heartbeat lulled me to sleep amidst all odds.

~six and a half hours later

We retrieved our bags as the bright white lights of the airport were frankly quite blinding. It was 2AM, and as expected even the Grantley Adams International Airport was busy at this time of night.
