Rachel's P.O.V~
"Stop it-" are the words I just barely managed as my laughter prevented my speech. My body writhed as my eyes began to water when I threw my head back in laughter. "Coryy-"
Cory didn't let up as he mercilessly tickled me on his bed."Cory!" At this point I was gasping for air. He finally stopped and I collapsed on my back, breathless and exhausted.
Finally. He simply responded by taking his place next to me, lying on his side and propping his head up with his arm. He looked right at me, revealing his broad white smile.
The view I was currently being afforded never became tiresome. We went on so many dates that it was hard to keep track of all. I enjoyed every moment of it.
By now we had learnt a great number of constellations from numerous nights spent beneath the stars together.
Every now and then there would be a small dispute, nothing major, but that's expected in a relationship.
Cory was always gentle by his tone and physically, no matter what we spoke about and any time that he did raise his voice it were almost always out of comical exaggeration. There was also the pleasant certainty of the fact that we'd seemingly never run out of topics to speak about.
I looked over at him once I'd finally calmed my breathing.
His brown eyes sparkled as they always did, just beckoning me to dive right in like a heated, long-awaited bath after a long day at work.Cory's head was brandished with his magnificent afro of curly hair. He wore a tank top, showcasing his arms that were rippled with veins that traversed the rather mesmerizing muscular terrain; all the way from his knuckles and up his forearm.
I simply leaned forward and left a soft kiss on his lips; my fingers grazing upon the layered black and white necklace that he always wore. My heart fluttered triumphantly as I felt his lips curl into a smile while still in contact with mine.
Soon enough he was lying flat on his back as I laid comfortably with my head resting on his chest. His solid frame remained below me as I relished in the feeling of his well-toned body against mine. Listening to his steady heartbeat, his chest slowly rose and fell.
Dark brown window-shades hung in his room as I laid there trapped in a somewhat faze, staring at the slits of gold evening light. A easily chill atmosphere remained between us.
He'd just came back home and I had found myself beside him almost immediately. "So, how'd it go?" I asked.
I dragged my hand across his chest for a second, exiting the semi-hug I was in, before springing up and reaching for the pack of Oreos on the nightstand.
He responded, "Well, at the moment we got the last of the tiling redone for the bathrooms. But now we have to find someone to paint, you know- the name of my mom's salon and the opening hours onto the front window-But so far, progress is still being made. Which is just.. a blessing; more than we can ask for."
"I'm really proud that you're doing all of this for your mom, Cory." I opened the pack and left it between us on the bed. I popped one into my mouth as Cory took off his cap and passed his hand through his hair.
He responded, "Lemme get one of those, real quick-" He grabbed one of the Oreos before continuing, "I'm aware, but I also know that it's keeping me busy these days. "
"I know how much your mom wanted something like this - and how much you want this for her.
So don't worry about me."He replied, "I had so much planned-"
