Chapter 4

A/N: I mentioned before that Hope was going to take her 9th/freshman end of the year exams and if she passed she would move up to 10th/sophomore year. She did pass so she is in 10th while Penelope and the twins are in 9th.

Saturday December 23rd, 2028

The girls have been going strong and are closer than ever, but today Hope goes to New Orleans for Christmas. After repeated begging from all four girls Alaric and Caroline shot them down once again so Penelope and the twins are staying at the school for vacation. After many tears Hope boards her plane to New Orleans leaving behind her mates. Penelope and the twins then go on to ignore Alaric and Caroline for the next couple days until they are forced to spend Christmas day with them and the Salvatore's. Meanwhile Hope spent the entire flight in tears feeling emptier the farther she gets from her mates. Once her plane lands the tears are gone, but the empty feeling remains.

"HOPE! My favorite niece!"

"Hi uncle Kol."

"Oh wow that wasn't to hello I was expecting?!?"

"Sorry." Hope shrugs before hugging him feeling her tears start to fall again.

"Kol leave her be she's with out her mates." Rebekah smacks the back of Kol's head before pulling Hope into her arms.

"I'm sorry they couldn't come with, I would've loved to meet them." Rebekah tells Hope while hugging her tightly.

The entire time Hope was in New Orleans goes by slowly for all four girls as they each count down the minutes till they'll all be together again. Hope still manages to have a little bit of fun as she is with her family after all, but its still not the same without her mates. On Hope's last full day in New Orleans after her and Kellin got back from the bayou, having went to run as wolves, Freya announces that the entire Mikaelson family would be going to Mystic falls with her. Everyone wanted to be able to officially meet Hope's mates so after talking with Alaric and Caroline they planed the trip. Hope was now even more excited to go back as now on top of being able to see her mates again she was no longer having to say good bye to her family to do so.

Tuesday January 2nd, 2029

After some convincing on Hope's part and pleading phone calls on Penelope's and the twin's the entire Mikaelson family is on the road at two in the morning. They had decided on driving instead of flying much to Hope'd disappointment as instead of a roughly three hour flight she has to sit in a van for around 14 hours, not counting stops, with her family. The entire drive Hope is face timing with Penelope and the twins as she sits in the way back of the van alone.

"Has anything happened since we last face timed?" Hope asks the girls.

"Actually surprisingly yes. We have two new vamps they came within days of each other." Josie answers.

"Oh, do we like them?"

"Yeah they both seem cool. Kaleb is definitely a player and might cause some problems, but he seems pretty laid back. Then MG seems like a total sweetheart and Dr. S has seemed to have taken him under his wing." Penelope responds.

"So friends, yes?"

"Yeah friends." Lizzie says after Penelope, Josie and her look at each other for a second.

"Oh it looks like we are stopping for gas and bathroom break I'll text you when we get closer aunt Freya says we won't be getting to the school till closer to five tonight though."

"Okay use the ride to get some sleep." Lizzie says.

"I will. I miss you all and will see you soon."
