You finished putting on a shirt as Mark walked into the room. He kept his eyes away from your body -respectively, as he should- and shared until you finished changing into your normal clothes for the day.

"I agree." He said.

"About what?" You asked, sitting on the bed with your back facing him, letting him change. He changed quickly, crawling onto the bed and giving you a hug from behind. Mark rested his face in the crook of your neck.

"The child." He replied. You hummed, petting his hair. "I want to adopt."

You smiled. "Let's go then. The orphanage by Philza's house isn't going to stay up any longer. Philza messaged me and said that Techno was going to stay the night there before going back to his own house."

Mark chuckled. "Okay, okay."

You put on your shoes quickly, and was out the door with your bag and jacket, the car sitting nicely in the driveway. Mark exited the house seconds after you did, unlocking the car and climbing inside.

You drove out of town, the joy of finally getting a child was making you impatient.

"No sorry." Mark said, waving goodbye at the orphanage director. "There's no kid that we are looking for here."

You waited outside for Mark, turning towards him when he stepped out of the building.

"No one?" You asked.

He shook his head. "No."

You let out a sigh. "Maybe this is just a waste of time." You said. "Maybe we should just go home and forget about the kid."

Mark frowned. "No. We are not going home until we find this kid." He snapped. You looked up at him in shock. "I want this child just as much as you do, I'm not going to give up until I find the right kid."

He stomped over to the car and got inside, waiting for you to get inside. You did after a few seconds.

"We have one more place to check. I'm ure of it that this time, we will find him."

You put on the seat belt and looked at Marks face as the both of you drove to the last orphanage of the day. He had a look of determination, and you knew he wasn't going to give up. You smiled softly and faced towards the road.

You were glad you married him.

"Yes, we are looking for a kid." You said, smiling at the orphanage director.

The director nodded. "I shall gather them all up for you." She bowed and walked out of the room.

You and Mark looked at each other in worry. You both hoped that this would be the one, as it was the last orphanage in the area that you were in. The next one would be at least 6 hours away, not that it took you long to get to this one.

The director came back with one child, the kid hiding behind her legs.

"It's okay Michael, they aren't going to hurt you." She said.

The child, named Michael, stepped out from behind her. You and Mark gasped quietly.

Michael had skin heterochromia, his normal skin a light chocolate color. He had a huge white spot over his right side, with smaller spots on his arms and hands. He was blind in his right eye, but it didn't seem to bother him. In fact, it seemed to make him even better.

Tears went into your eyes as you crouched down. "Hey Michael!" You said, smiling brightly.

Michael blinked and looked up the at the orphanage director. She nodded and Michael smiled. He ran into your arms, the tears falling from your eyes.

You felt happy, like the void in your chest was suddenly filled by the child in your arms.

Mark crouched down and hugged you, wrapping his arms around the both of you protectively.

The director chuckled.

You looked up. "Oh! I'm so sorry!" You stood up, bring Mark and the child in your arms up with you.

"Shall I get the paperwork started?" She asked.

Mark nodded. "Yes. Please." He wiped away a tear that was trying to escape from his eye before it could burn him like they usually did.

She bowed again and left the room, leaving the three of you to your own devices.

You smiled up at Mark, Michael looking up at him at the same time. "Oh my god, we found the one. We found him."

You nodded, sniffling. "Y-yeah. We did, huh?" You rubbed Michaels back, his body fitting perfectly in your arms.

Mark took Michaels face in his hands and grazed his thumb on his cheek. "I'm so glad."

She came back. "Please come to my office. The paperwork is there."

You nodded, setting Michael down, but keeping a grip on his hand. He walked with his new parents -in his eyes- to the office, and waited outside on the chair for what seemed like an eternity. He played with his hands, never once mumbling a word, or humming to pass the time.

Two kids walked past him, noticing him quickly. Michael looked up from his hands and waved.

"Ugh, its the freak." One boy said.

"Why is he getting adopted before any of us?"

Michael's smile faltered and he looked down. A new set of footsteps came running down the hallway. He looked up again and saw another boy.

"Leave him alone! Just because he is different, doesn't mean that you can pick on him! Get lost!" The boy shouted.

The two other boys rolled their eyes and grumbled under their breath and walked away. The one boy looked at Michael and smiled.

"Don't worry about me! I can handle myself! You are extremely lucky to be adopted by people like those! They look like wonderful parents." The boy said, giving Michael a thumbs up. "You'll be in good hands."

Michael smiled at the boy, the boy smiling back.

"Now, I have to get going, these people are going to step out any minute, and I don't want to be here any longer. Bye!" He ran off, following after the two boys.

The door opened as soon as the boy disappeared. You stepped out and took Michaels hand.

"Hey there! I am (Y/n), and my husband is Mark. But you can call us Mom and Dad." You said, smiling.

The director coughed. "One more thing I forgot to mention, Michael is mute."
