POV: Harper
"Alright mamí! Let's get to work!" Max swung my bedroom door open. He was mostly ready. He had his makeup on, which mainly consisted of contour and highlights, and had everything else set and ready aside from his hair since he left the products in my room.
"How big is this dinner?" I asked him as I sat down in the chair with a button up shirt and a pair of shorts on top of my tights. This way it won't mess up my hair since I don't have to pull a shirt over my head. I've learned my own tricks of the trade years ago.
"Huge, girl, huge. Like, almost six-hundred people huge." Max gave me a look before setting up his station on the table he brought in here. Apparently he didn't have enough space before, so he called the front desk and told them to send up some kind of table.
"And Lauren knows all of them?" I looked at him with an unamused expression. There ain't no way in hell that Lauren even knows half of them.
"You know she doesn't. She doesn't even know a quarter of them. She'll say hi to those who come to her, but she doesn't remember them at all. She didn't even recognize one of her own models last year if that says anything." Max gave me a similar look to my own before getting started on my makeup.
"What does the dress look like?" I asked as he started to coat my face in primer like no body's business.
"It's a deep red night gown with a lace back and a built in bra. It's stunning and functional." Max got on a roll with my makeup, and it helped that I knew where to look without him needing to tell me.
"Is she almost ready?" Lauren yelled through my door around a half hour later.
"I know you are not rushing perfection!" Max yelled back as he coated my hair in whatever kind of product he had. It cemented it into place without making it too hard. God bless this man and his expensive hair products.
"I'm not rushing perfection! I'm rushing you!" Lauren yelled back before heavy steps walked away from my door.
"We have another ten minutes before we have to head up to the rooftop. Darius is so excited to take pictures of you. You have no idea. That man set up night lighting and everything for you, girl." Max looked at me through the mirror.
"Why? I'm not even a model." I furrowed my eyebrows.
"Because he is done with taking picture of tall girls with blonde hair and blue eyes. He is beyond excited to take pictures of you with your dark brown hair, green eyes, and your petite body in that red dress." Max giggled before patting my shoulder. "I put your dress in the bathroom for you already. You just have to step into it and I'll help you adjust when you come back out."
"Thanks Max." I giggled as I got up out of my chair and rushed to the bathroom to see the gown and my jaw dropped.
"Although I wanted it to be Hermes, Lauren made me pick out a LV." Max sighed as I stripped myself of my clothes and stepped into the dress that was a perfect fit.
"Was this altered?" My jaw dropped as I looked at myself in the mirror. It hugged my waist perfectly.
"Of course it is. I did it before your dad even signed the contract. I wasn't about to let you go to this gala in a dress that wasn't made for you." Max scoffed just before I stepped out. "Oh my God, Lauren is going to flip."
I giggled and he rushed to help me zip up the sides where there were two perfectly invisible seams that hid the zippers.
"I knew you could pull that dress. Not many can. Anyone who is above five foot six is pushing it with that dress." Max circled me before grabbing the choker Lauren got me before and wrapping a bracelet that was small in width around my left wrist. "This is a gift from me to you. A white gold chain bracelet, because I love ya girlie."
