I screamed as Ronan's teeth sank deeper and deeper into my flesh. "GET OFF HER!" Mason roared, his dark wings rising up to swat desperately at Ronan as his sickly yellow eyes gradually faded back to brown. His canines immediately retracted and he swiftly pushed himself off of me and scrambled off the bed. I collapsed on my pillow while reaching up to cradle my bleeding shoulder blade with a trembling hand. Mason rushed to stop the bleeding as well, pressing on the wound with both hands as he bellowed once more, "LIAM!"
It was instantaneous when the Cupid appeared in a flurry of pink feathers on my terrace, in much the same way that Mason had arrived. They must have been out for a morning flight to stretch their wings since Mason was nearly healed by now. Liam barged in through the screen door, nearly taking it off its hinges, jeans slung low on his hips that teased at his own 'V' below the waist as Mason always wore. "What happened!?" he questioned breathlessly, but I was in too much pain to answer myself.
"He bit her!" Mason growled, black lightning beginning to spark around the room chaotically, scorching the wooden walls and floorboards wherever it touched.
"Shit," Liam cursed, and pushed past Mason's lightning boundary, his pink feathers becoming charred in some places as he bore through his own pain and rushed to aid my own. He replaced Mason's hands with his own as I cried out from the pain, blood starting to soak the sheets. "The Claim shouldn't be bleeding this much! Mason, go get the first-aid kit!" Mason seemed reluctant to leave my side until Liam urged him once more, "GO!"
Mason was gone in a flurry of midnight feathers out my terrace as I heard him crashing about downstairs soon after. Tears streamed down my cheeks as my shoulder began to ache with a burning heat. I sobbed profusely as Liam continue to apply pressure to stop the bleeding. All I could see was red everywhere. On my hands, my clothes, the bedsheets, the pillow, and now Liam's fingers were coated in it as well. "Hang in there, Amber," Liam murmured reassuring words to me as I whimpered but managed to nod my head slightly, my vision growing blurry as my head began to throb painfully. I was going to pass out.
"Here!" Mason barged into the room through the hallway door this time and tossed Liam a solid white box with a giant red plus sign on it as he hastily caught it with ease, his hands scrambling to take out the gauze and cotton binding with red fingers.
Ronan stumbled forward and reached a single hand out towards me. "Amber, I-," he began, but Mason intercepted him.
"You stay the hell away from her! You've done enough damage already!" Mason growled at him, dark wings lifted high above him, shadowing Ronan's forlorn expression. I swallowed roughly and turned my face away as Liam began to clot my bite mark with cotton gauze. "Just get out!" My Guardian Angel bellowed, and it was silent for a long while before I heard the door close shut and Mason immediately rushed back over to my side.
Liam finally managed to stop the bleeding and then brought out the roll of wrapping. "Help me lift her so I can bind the wound," Liam instructed, to which Mason only nodded and ever-so-gently used both his hands and wings to help prop me up as I whimpered at the slightest movement and clung to his forearm with one hand.
"I wish I had the power to heal you, Am," Mason whispered as Liam began to bind a patch of gauze around my shoulder. I said nothing, my head suddenly too heavy to lift for even a single nod. Once Liam finished and had cut the wrapping did Mason gently lift me up into his arms. "I'm going to clean her up," Mason said to the Cupid, "you should go get Messiah and inform him of what happened. And also bring her something heavy to eat. She needs the energy more than ever after losing all that blood." Liam only nodded once before heading back out onto the terrace and taking to the skies. "Now try not to be so self-conscious when I remove your clothes, okay?" Mason instructed me, and despite my face growing hot at the prospect of him seeing me in the nude, I couldn't even form a complaint.
