Ronan forced me to ride on his back on the way over to Kear and Alina's house despite being able to shift myself now, his reasoning being that he didn't want anyone to see me stark naked after arriving even though he himself was carrying his change of clothes in his mouth. It honestly wasn't fair. It also felt strange to ride upon his back since I was perfectly capable of trotting on my own four paws now. I would definitely have to talk with him about this later. I felt my face heat up just as another thought entered my mind. Then again, maybe only until I get used to my own nudity in front of others first.
Once the sight of a small cabin came into view--granted, my vision was now five times stronger than before--Ronan slowed himself to a soft trot before halting completely, allowing me to drop down to the forest floor as he shifted behind me, causing me to rush forward to the front door so as to avoid a certain sight that had my mind in the gutter once again. A slight rousing growl behind me caused my spine to tingle and bit my lip to swallow my teasing grin. Even after Mason's earlier remarks about our 'raging hormones', it was still all I could think about and knew that sooner or later I would come to regret it. Once I approached the wooden door, I raised my fist to knock when it suddenly opened of its own accord, revealing a short, elderly woman around my mom's age with pale blonde hair and short streaks of gray braided down her back over a plain loose long-sleeved thin black dress with matching ballet flats. Now I felt a little under-dressed.
"Oh, welcome, Luna!" the woman greeted with boisterous excitement as she yanked me into a tight-fitting embrace, her scent filling my now sensitive nostrils with pure peppermint. This must be what Ronan had meant by 'natural output' of scents. Her warmth made my body relax in her embrace as I returned the gesture whole-heartedly, despite the title Alina had greeted me with that I still wasn't quite accustomed to yet.
"There's really no need to call me that, Mrs. Wallace," I gently chastised her once I finally managed to relinquish her hold on me.
"Oh, of course there is, my dear," Alina waved her hand dismissively and swiftly ushered me inside. "Welcome home, Alpha," she grinned over my shoulder and reached up to embrace Ronan--who had already dressed in the clothes he carried over from earlier after he had shifted back consisting of a tight-fitted black long-sleeve, jeans, and black sneakers--as he embraced her just as strongly.
"'Home'?" I had to question just as an answering chuckle sounded from behind me. I swiftly spun to face Kear Wallace who gently tugged on my arm to embrace me as well.
"Our home has been open to Ronan since he was a boy, and after his parents passed a short while after he received the mantle of Alpha, he decided to declare this home his official residence," Kear kindly explained to my inquiry, causing me to nod in understanding.
