It's been just over two weeks now and I was very content in my relationship with Isaac, Stiles not even crossing my mind however there was one thing that kept repeatedly crossing my mind: prom. Things like what was I going to wear, how would I do my hair and what type of makeup but the main one was will Isaac ask me to prom. You would think that he would as he is my boyfriend but I'm beginning to think otherwise as its three days before the prom and he hasn't mentioned it. I mean he can't have forgotten there are banners and posters up all-around school and everyone is talking about it so why hadn't he asked. I couldn't buy a dress until I knew if he was going to be my date as I would have to know the colour of his suit so that my dress didn't clash.

I hear a knock on my bedroom door, and I am greeted by a very happy Lydia.

"Hey" she says cheerfully.

"Um hi" I say confused as to how she got in and why she was here.

"So, I'm guessing Isaac has already asked you to prom, but I want to know what you're wearing" she says oblivious to the fact she has just randomly burst into my bedroom.

"Well actually he hasn't" I explain.

"Wait what do you mean" she says shocked.

"I mean he hasn't mentioned prom, like at all" I say.

"OMG, I have to do something about this" she exclaims before taking her phone out of her bag and calling someone.

"Hey Isaac" she says.

"I heard loads of guys are desperate to ask y/n to prom but you have obviously already asked her to be your date so that shouldn't matter" she says looking over and winking at me.

"Ok then bye" she says ending the call.

"Ok so he sounded really panicked and he lied and said he already asked you which means he wants you to be his date so don't worry about it I'm sure he'll ask soon" she says proud of herself.

"Thanks, Lyd" I say slightly overwhelmed.

"So, when he asks you call me, and we can go shopping to find you a dress but make sure you ask him for the colour of his suit we can't have you clashing" she says, and I chuckle at how we are so similar but different at the same time.

"I will" I reply.

"Great bye then" she says and with that she leaves my room.

Shortly after Lydia had left, I heard my phone buzz and I picked it up and saw a message from Isaac.

Isaac: Hey, I need to ask you something meet me outside your place in 30 minutes?

I squeal excitedly knowing exactly what he was going to ask me and mentally thanking and praising Lydia for giving him the kick up the ass he needed.

You: Yes, that's fine I'll be ready.

Isaac: Ok great see you then.

I throw on a cute flowy dress and apply a little bit of makeup hoping to look at least half decent for when Isaac asks me. I straighten my hair and sit on the sofa impatiently waiting for him to arrive.

I count down the minutes progressively getting more nervous I start to overthink everything, what if he's not even asking me to prom, I'm such an idiot this will be so embarrassing.

Before I can think about anymore awful outcomes of this situation, I hear a knock on the door I open it confidently oping I haven't totally misjudged this situation. Luckily, I hadn't I saw him stood with a sign that read will you go to prom with me?

"Yes" I say grinning as I run over to him and embrace him in a hug.

"I'm sorry I didn't ask sooner I just wanted it to be perfect" he says.

"This is perfect" I reply happily as he hands me a box of chocolates which I quickly accept.

"Also, what colour is the suit your wearing" I ask shyly knowing that to him that was probably a weird question.

"Um dark blue why" he asks laughing.

"I can't have my dress colour clashing with you duh" I say us both laughing in each other's arms.

*three days later*

Today is the day of prom and I couldn't be more excited I had the perfect dress thank to Lydia, her and I had gone shopping the day after Isaac asked me and I couldn't be more thankful she truly is a fashion icon. She knows exactly what is flattering on your figure, what colours bring out your eyes, what style makeup goes with the dress, what shoes and bag I definitely couldn't have done it all on my own.

Its currently 4:26pm and Lydia bursts into my room for the third time this week and I begin to wonder to myself if she even knows what knocking is.

"Ok so first we do our makeup then we curl our hair because if we do our hair first the curls will all drop and then we get dressed and accessorise and wait for our dates to take us to prom" she says way too energetically for me.

"Lydia that's too much information I've just woken up from a nap" I groan tiredly not wanting to get out of bed.

"Y/n you have 5 seconds to get out of bed or ill drag you out myself, prom is like one of the most important nights of all time we need to start getting ready" she says frantically, and I immediately get out of bed knowing if not she will drag me out.

"Ok, ok I'm up" I say.

"Good now let's get ready" she replies before starting to pull out her makeup bag.

ISAAC'S POV:

I'm waiting outside of y/n's house ready to take her to prom, I'm very nervous which is weird because normally I'm a very confident person. I have no idea what y/n is wearing but she looks good in anything so it doesn't really matter I would happily take her to prom in a bin bag.

I knock on the door and Scott answers telling me he's got to go get Allison and giving me the usual don't hurt her talk. Mellissa greets me at the door and welcomes me in telling me y/n will only be a few minutes.

We exchange some small talk along with another don't hurt her this time a little more aggressive a few death threats were added.

I hear a door open and see y/n walking down the stairs in a navy dress; god she looked flawless. She continued walking down the stairs gracefully and I couldn't keep my eyes off of her the dress hugged her figure and made her look even more perfect than usual.

"Wow you look amazing" I say starstruck.

"Eyes up Lahey" I hear her mum say y/n chuckling to herself as I am snapped out of my own mind.

"Oh, ye um right sorry" I say awkwardly.

"Shall we get going then" I say trying to move on.

"Yep, let's go" y/n replies much to my delight.

She says her goodbyes to her mom as do I.

"Don't hurt her because I wasn't kidding about what I said earlier" I faintly hear her mom shout as I leave.

"Oh god she didn't scare you off did she" y/n says clearly aware of how her mother acted.

"No, not yet at least" I say and we both chuckle as I open the car door for her, and we head to prom.
