Your first day at the new job. You were so excited, but so nervous at the same time. Would they like you? Would you do good at your job?
You stepped out of the taxi which stopped right outside the Etihad Campus. Taking one good look at it all, you strted walking into the building. "Good morning! y/n, right?" The receptionist greeted you at the front desk. How was she this cheery this early in the morning? "Yes, thats me!" You replied in the same tone. "Good, the head trainer is waiting for you just down the corridor to the right." You quickly thanked the kind lady and paced off to where she told you to go.
This was it, finding out who you were assigned to. Your job was a personal assistant/trainer. Basically run errands and do everything they need you to do. It was the best job available at that time.
"Oh, hello! y/n isnt it?" The head trainer shook your hand and you told him that was you. "So, welcome to manchester city, we really hope you enjoy your time here. Lets get straight into it." He started walking down the corridor as you quickly followed after. "For now, you will be assigned to Phil Foden, he is one of our youngest in the squad. Hopefully he wont be too much hastle for you. If its any trouble just let us know." You nodded trying to follow every word he was saying, although he was speaking quite fast.
You entered a room where a young lad was sitting on a medical chair. "This is Phil. Phil this is y/n, your new assistant." He stood up quickly from the chair and shook your hand too. "Hiya, nice to meet you." He said with a bright smile. He had a short haircut and a shiny silver earring in one ear. You almost forgot to let go of his hand until he pulled his away. "Looks like you two will get along well, i will leave you two it. And dont forget match kick off at 5:45, ill see you then." He flashed a quick smile and hurried off to presumably another job he had to attend to.
You stood there awkwardly while Phil was on his phone. "So.. anything I need to do?" He turned it off as soon as you started talking and looked up at you with his big hazel eyes. "Nah, thankyou though. We just need to prepare for later." His manchester accent stood out.
Wherever he went, you just followed. Obviously trying not to be annoying at the same time. You supplied him with lots of water and whatever else he needed throughout the day. Surprisingly, he wasnt high maintenance as you expected. But you were about the same age, so maybe it wasnt a big surprise. You were never of high maintenance.
Throughout the day you became more comfortable. You were both as nervous as each other. "Are you always like this before a match?" You asked as he tapped his foot continuously. "Sorry, just a bit nervous." You placed a hand on his shoulder without realising what you were doing. "Hey, i know you will play well. Theres no need to worry." Phil looked into your eyes as you looked into his. He placed his hand on your cheek and inched closer. You moved closer too.
Your lips brush against his just as the door swung open and hit the wall with a slam. Heat creeps into your face, you feel your cheeks going red. "We were looking for you! Come on, match time." Another one of the manchester city players said. Phil stood up, his face all flustered too. He walked over to the door and his teammate patted him on the back and smirked.
What the hell just happened.
